Some of the stocks (typically penny) I trade are illiquid.
If I put a GTC order, I can get partial executions for several days.
Most firms then charge you a minimum commission for each day
of partial execution and that can add up to a substantial amount
relative to the dollar value of...
Thanks Abattia, quite a helpful link you gave.
After reading the link, it appears:
IB is perhaps top choice for borrowing shares for short sales.
But has anyone compared IB with LightSpeed on this short sale share availability issue?
Also, someone mentioned brokers that use multiple...
It can be very frustrating not to be able to execute short sale orders especially when you know the stock is going down a lot soon. As a result, your trading results and performance becomes much worse than if short sales could be easily executed.
Too often, I get this "no shares available"...
I want a firm that allows you to sell short with few restrictions.
Firms that are often unable to take sell short orders due to "unable to borrow" are highly undesirable obviously.
For the bears here, which are you favorite brokers for your short sales?
The last thing I need is after...
No one will dispute the importance of data quality.
Delays can be bad, and there has been much talk about that. This may not be as important if the data analysis is done after hours.

P.S.: EodData.com supposedly has 15-min data available. Have you...
OK, where can one download the list of symbols for each of the 51 exchanges?
No doubt Quote.Com has the symbol lists. Why not make them available for download? I don't mean the data, just the symbol lists.

Is LiveCharts still limited to something like 500 OHLC bars?
For example, if one wants to plot 1-minute bars, is the chart still limited to about one-day?
In other words, how far back in historical data does the new version of LiveCharts provide?

OK, may be AAPL was not the best for comparisons.
One should pick a stock that is traded, if possible, on one exchange only, and preferably highly active, i.e. high volume.
I suspect this would be a stock traded on either AMEX or NYSE.
Besides the stock (ticker symbol) we finalize on, I...
