Not sure what the AM theory says on that reversal mid air between two long zones (882.50-885 & xxx-875). Weak longs' stops hit as price dropped below 882 and subsequently replaced by longs who took over the rally? I see a new layer of longs (+14k) in the >882 zone now. D.

882.50 dam breached with positive CD divergence to spare. Just another example of the point I made yesterday about not taking CD div verbatim. Maybe we should rename it CE for caveat emptor? :-) However, CD div on double touch of 889.75 is negative (-14k)... the trend is your friend? D.

Long zone 882.50 to 885 is thinning out (-6k). Check out positive CD div (+7k) on the double touch of 882.50 to see if it can be relied on... will know soon, right? D.

882.50 is the very bottom of the 882-885 long zone. Admittedly, my inventory measurement is still lacking, as I'm constrained to what can be "quant"ed. D.

I still have 882-885 as long zone (AMT has it as short zone??). Below 882, top of next long zone is 875. 2c, D.

My name is Kobayashi. I work for Keyser Soze. My employer needs that timeframe too (wink wink). D.

Maybe trading looks unnecessarily complex to me BECAUSE I'm a quant and not a trader? :-) D.

But that wouldn't make the personal journey that much fun, now would it? :-) I certainly appreciate the (obviously hypothetical) invitation. I subscribe to what you said in the older thread that a good way to learn delta is to sit down with I/RT and watch it play out in real-time in order to...

    Inventory Grab Alert 4/30/09!

The CD, as anyone using a tool that tracks it (I/RT, Ninja/GomCD, etc.) can judge for herself, IMHO is NOT a reliable indicator, at least not by itself, or should I say, at least not in its simplified form when you try to detect divergence with price action. Now someone needs to write a book...

I'm just reading the numbers after the fact, that's nothing compared with what AMT is demonstrating with money management in real-time. D. Note to self: need to see that movie "Courage Under Fire" again.

Drive for show, putt for dough... one is money management, the other is calling tops, you decide which is which :-) D.

What you have here is 15k contracts flipping short at the "line of scrimmage" and about twice that in the 2-pt zone below that during that 1-hr long mini H&S development that painted the top. 4c, D.

    Inventory Grab Alert 4/30/09!

If I'm not mistaken, deep pocket shorts are no match for deep pocket longs. The bears partied for over a year and a half now and it must be a lot of fun for the bulls to blow them out of the water with every swing higher. Inventory zones and R/S technicalities aside, how can anyone accurately...

    Inventory Grab Alert 4/30/09!

Whether you double up or not... without an edge and deep pockets, you don't want to use this strategy. But in case you do have an edge and deep pockets (relative to position size, of course), then you AMT :-) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system) lose, lose...

    If my numbers are correct, R2 @ ~921, R3 @ ~926. D.

You have to use pretty fine resolution on the delta bars to see that. Looks like another set of stops hit above 919.00. Edit: Assuming your short works, I see long zone support down to 912. 2c, D.

You haven't mentioned resting inventory zones, does that mean this signal stands on its own merit without "zone support" for the trade? D.

Interesting. Counter trend at a macro level and with the trend at a micro level. Limit orders may not always get filled I suppose when you're going with the (order) flow (as it may not pullback due to fierce momentum)? D.

You will not enter a short position into a realtime zero-lag forming positive delta bar... but you will enter a short position with adverse (positive in this case) CD div if you've got a negative delta bar? D.

And how about that positive CD div (+20k) at 915 with, hmmm, initiated sell bar? D.
