    Pro Trading Tools

...and here I was, thinking I was tech-forward because I was thinking about learning how to make some simple, mechanic MT5 robots. :D:D:D Now, seriously, very cool stuff!

What are(were) your most common mistakes in Trading?

In that we disagree, friend. I don't refer at all to learning how to operate a platform, but rather learning the actual activity of trading, that is: analyzing markets, developing and executing strategies, noticing how certain things (like fundamental news) have an effect (or not) in a given...

On day trading being a "scam": should we evaluate trader's or trading strategies' performances?

I honestly don't think there as many as well. However, the actual failure rate of traders is indeed more or less 90%+, at least in most case studies. Indeed, these often have some statistical bias or data sample issues (since they usually focus on beginners). But that's only half the picture, as...

On day trading being a "scam": should we evaluate trader's or trading strategies' performances?

I was just wondering, after going through extensive articles on how day trading is anything but a sure-fire way to lose money: are we looking into the right data? Let me explain. The overwhelming majority of academic research that deems day trading a moot enterprise, as well as news articles...

Public Trading Contest With LMI - get funded!

Did anyone manage to get a grip on the software (VolFix)? I can't for the life of me zoom into the chart or find any indicators.

What are(were) your most common mistakes in Trading?

That's not the point, because the sim is not meant to train psychological skills, it is meant to train one's operational skills. If a wannabe trader can't obtain consistent results on a simulator, why the hell would they be able to do that in a real live market? The thing most people get wrong...

What are(were) your most common mistakes in Trading?

Hahahahaha absolutely true. Once you get to know the whole family it gets easier to avoid them, though. That's why I urge new traders to stay as long as needed in the simulator. Why waste time and money learning all the shades of wrong, when you can waste just the time?

Most commonly used study indicator in futures market ?

Indeed, you don't. A lot of things have to be factored in determining the likely volatility of a future session -- one of the being the release of fundamental news or not -- and the actual ATR only gives you an average of how wide (that is, from top to bottom) the market tends to be. But that...

    VSA and Wyckoff opinions

I'm a day trader and I tend to gravitate towards scalping and short-term (10, 15 mins.) operations. My timeframes for the Brazilian markets are 1, 5 and 15 minutes. For EUR/USD and other forex pairs I use 5, 15 and 30 minute charts. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them :)

    VSA and Wyckoff opinions

I actually only started getting consistent results when I came across Wyckoff and volume-based trading. I currently use a few tools which I combine to achieve my results: volume profile and volume at price, weis waves, money flow index (MFI) and obviously the volume bars. The idea is I analyze...

Public Trading Contest With LMI - get funded!

Thank you for the fast reply! I actually use mostly volume indicators, so it's quite nice to know the platform is built around them. Specifically, I use money flow index, Bollinger bands and Weis waves. In any case I'll surely sign up for the opportunity, thank you!

Most commonly used study indicator in futures market ?

Well I don't know others, but I rely exclusively on price and volume, with a Wyckoffian perspective on the markets. I developed my own system from that, which does include a bunch of indicators: volume bars (for individual candle analysis) , volume profile (for support and resistance), Weis...

How do I accurately choose the period for indicators?

Like others said, these values are nothing but historical artifacts and default suggestions. I've heard that Welles Wilder's RSI, ATR and ADX values were based on lunar cycles (14 periods then became the standard). My approach is that you tweak indicators to the specific instrument by conducting...

What are(were) your most common mistakes in Trading?

Definitely my biggest mistake was thinking that all the psychological skills needed for trading were going to simply be a result of learning more about markets or finding the holy grail of systems. Also, not sticking to one good strategy - you can't expect consistent outcomes from erratic...

Public Trading Contest With LMI - get funded!

Just wondering, what kinds of indicators are available within the platform? I use a somewhat specific set of them and it'd be nice not to have to swap between analysis and execution in different platforms. Thanks for the opportunity, will definetly try this one out!
