    Is my career over?

You are right. I should look at my situation as "starting new" I checked out the document you pointed me to. I do not feel as if I am an addictive trader. I answered no to nearly all of the questions. Thanks for the post.

    Is my career over?

Actually, I very rarely trade right when the numbers come out. the number coming out usually creates a momentum day. I tend to trade like half an hour or more after the numbers come out

    Is my career over?

I get your point. I need to focus on capital preservation at this point. Thanks for your comments. I appreciate it very much. I'll definitely hit you up when I'm back up to $35,000. I think you will be very surprised to hear from me.

Nothing like kicking a man while he's down. Very funny indeed

I think you may be on drugs

    Is my career over?

My plan is to trade the economic numbers. That is basically what I've been doing. On slow days, usually mondays, I use basic support and resistance levels.

    Is my career over?

That's what I've been doing all along. I found that with 40-lots, there was no wiggle room so I had to be right on target every time i put a trade on. By averaging in, I don't have to be 100% right on my entry. So i sell 2, if it goes against me maybe sell another two. and if it goes back...

    Is my career over?

lol. I think I've learned my lesson on that one. Having the experience of losing in the way in which I did, I don't think that I will ever let that happen again. I will stick with 6-lots probably until I get back up to $35,000. You are right, Trading bigger size when you lose is gambling...

    Is my career over?

You are awesome man. My problem is number 1 and number 3. I tend to let my losses ride just as much as I let my profits ride. I have to learn to just cut the loss and move on. I can't make excuses like: well I'm paying $4.00 in commission per RT. I never take gains way too soon. Losing...

    Is my career over?

Only time will tell whether you are right or wrong on this. I may fail but I will die trying. All of my losses have been due to revenge trading. I already have the experience of trading bigger size to try to get back what I've lost. I don't think it is unreasonable for me to plan to get my...

    Is my career over?

I decided that bonds would be easier to trade because you can know how they will move when economic numbers come out. Strong economy ==> bond decline.....weak economy==bonds rise. That was my thinking when I decided on a product to trade. Since the US recently reissued 30-years I expected...

    Is my career over?

Thanks so much for that. Telling me that you don't think I'll make it is not very inspiring but I get your point. I hope too much. you are right. I see this experience as a stumbling block which is a necessary step toward ultimate success. I believe a trader needs to know what it feels like...

    Is my career over?

With $8000 left, it would be quite a comeback if I were to make it all back. I only have to make $500 per day for two months straight. Right now I'm trading 6 lots and that kind of profit with 6 lots is definitely possible.

    Is my career over?

I was trading while I was out of my mind. I simply didn't want my $5000 that I had made in february to become a $500 loss. Well, that $5000 gain became $13000 loss which became the impetus for my $40,000 loss. You are right, the answers are within me.

    Is my career over?

Thanks. I need cool down periods after losing periods. I've discovered this to be a fact too.

    Is my career over?

I'm hoping that I will open myself up to the same extent of sucess as I have done for failure. (i.e. I've lost $30,000 in a month and one day hope to make $30,000 in a month). Thanks for the post

    Is my career over?

You make a lot of good points. I'm hoping that I'll one day make 7 times more money than you ever did too. If I lose this money I'll have to go back to work for a year, save money and try again. I don't ever anticipate giving up on this. This is not a fad thing that I'm doing as a get rich...

    Is my career over?

I forgot to mention that I made that $5000 trading 6 lots. I lost $2000 and got pissed off. It is then that I started trading 14 lots, then 24 lots, then 40 lots. I was out of control.

    Is my career over?

Thanks a lot you all. The one thing I've learned from my own pitiful experience is that trading size is not the answer when you are losing money. I found myself wanting to trade bigger size the more I lost. That was until my last refunding of my account. I woke up to the fact that size is...

    Is my career over?

I am more of a position day trader. I will hold positions for hours. The problem is that I tend to hold my losers for as long as I hold my winners.
