Blowing up/ getting wiped out on options

I'm not that big into forex, but that was the currency peg gone wrong that hit a lot of traders (and their firms massively). I think the lesson one learns from that is simple. If it seems too good to be true (i.e. massively overlevering on the can't miss trade...i.e. a perpetual peg that...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Yeah, I don't know why this is such a difficult concept to embrace. Futures are obviously trading again at 5:00 pm (CT), they get another jolt around Asian open, then the European open and quite obviously many algo's are gaming these sorts of tendencies, but the cash market (U.S.) is closed and...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

If the market is closed between 3:30 pm (CT) on Friday until 5:00 pm (CT) on Sunday evening, then obviously no trading has taken place. Hence, the reason I believe that it is the only true gap in the futures markets. Once trading became 24 hours with Globex (Sunday evening thru Friday)...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

That was a solid entry going into Friday, especially since there were great odds NQ was going to come off that pre-market high. The bigger problem, as always, is dealing with the one and only "true gap" on Sunday nights. Over the past few years, the real pain trade is always going into the...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Absent a few outliers, every significant down day gets the levitation treatment. Even the night of the SVXY implosion in early February, markets "were made whole" by the next day. The problem with it (and by extension everybody who plays this tendency) is the markets never "clear" or...

    Butterfly thread

A couple of questions if you don't mind? 1. Do you trade the flies all at once (like a pre-set fly order) or do you leg them? 2. How do you determine the width of the fly? Is there some criteria as far as underlying range, perhaps IV levels or just a matter of what is the most attractive...

    ES Journal - 2017/2018

This NQ weakness (following the parabolic up spike) seems to continue to hammer down any upside progress in the other indicies. Looking at 6617 as another short term potential bounce area

    ES Journal - 2017/2018

Yeah for most people that works. Occasionally, I have come across a few people who seem to average well and do it consistently. But that territory is littered with corpses (even the good ones get nailed if they get careless just once).

Vote here if you think this is the beginning of a bear market of 2018?

btw, vincent. Take a look at NQ hourly chart on 3/23-3/27 upswing, 4/4-4/5 upswing, then yesterday to today. All of them near identical.

Nq Big move at market close

That's the gist of it. On closer inspection, NQ has rallied (almost to the tick) same amount as that 3/23 thru 3/27 up swing.

Regardless of what this thing does day to day, it trades like a bear market. You don't get these types of massive up spikes and downdrafts in succession in a bull market. Of course, it could still be in the transitional phase like 2007 and make some stealth move straight back up.

I've heard of a three scale strategy, never four, but I don't disagree with what you are doing, so long as you've got the patience to ride that thing out.

lol, it is comedic isn't it? Nothing really changes. The "scary" Tuesday turns into euphoric Thursday. SPX/ES just about to reverse that entire move. SSDD
