I have noticed this too recently. Their quotes sometimes take a long time to update. I sent in a trouble ticket about this. Also sent a trouble ticket about the short order problem. They said they're 'working on it.' :-)

Just stocks...nothing in particular, I trade whatever's in play. I just attempted several shots (above the market). Most of them went live, but about 1 in 4 I got the popup message.

More often than not, it takes me 2 attempts to place a short using IB TWS. I place the order, I get a popup message that says 'could not value this order at this time.' I close the popup box, then I place the same identical order, and it goes through immediately. I can't be the only one...

How would you find out what the best bid and offer are for a specific ecn at a given time? For example, at 10:00 I want to know what the best inet bids and asks are, ignoring arca, mm's, etc.

Effective April 4, 2008, Penson will no longer permit incoming funds or securities... So 'incoming funds or securities' just means from another account, such as a bank account, or a transfer from another broker? I initially took it to mean incoming funds from your trades.

It sounds like you can't use the same funds repeatedly to daytrade any more. Is that right? I'd be surprised if that were the case, I haven't seen a similar announcement from my brokers.

Lost over $10K in about 30 minutes, then got back to even an hour later.

There was a stock on Friday that went from about $35 to about $50 on news. It went up early to almost $50, then dropped about 6 points, then rebounded back to $50 again. Can someone tell me what the symbol was? I think it was an NYSE stock.
