    Leverage at OANDA

He is only using half the 1:50 leverage. Try the units available calculator: http://fxtrade.oanda.com/tools/fxcalculators/units_available_calculator.shtml He has 450k units open, I get about 877k units available with the calculator. That's why you should never use so much leverage. As you...

    Is my broker trustworthy? (FXCM)

But how is that 47 billion distributed over the day, my spot broker accepts trades up to 10 million ANYTIME I want to make a trade (no exceptions). What good will the 47 million do me if I do not exceed 10 million in trade size? And while you are at it, why don't you quote the liquidity of...

Are there drawbacks to working with such a liquid market?

crgarcia: All you do is bashing the spot forex market in favour of the futures market. Why don't you just open your own topic, post your experiences and leave all unrelated threads alone. Some like spot, some like futures; don't make everything into an argument about that. ontopic...

    What's better forex or futures??

Your replies are very unclear, why don't you use the 'quote' button in the bottom right corner of the post you want to quote? And please write full sentences. The point is that there is no commission integrated into the spread. Forex brokers are market makers, i.e. they make a market by...

    What's better forex or futures??

When you go long a currency pair, you buy the base currency and sell the quote currency (simultaniously). Some more basics you can find here: http://www.fxtrade.com/learn/basics/index.shtml I've never traded futures, but from what I understand these are some of the forex advantages...

    Oanda - Wtf ?????!!!!!!!

The chart clearly shows the highest bid was not equal or higher than his limit order price. edit: if you align your mouse cursor with the highest bid line, you get the quote 1.54006. One of his screenshots lists the limit order price as 1.54020. That makes a difference of 1.4. Due to the...

    Oanda - Wtf ?????!!!!!!!

That is not correct, the difference is 1.3 pip. And he didn't even give us the exact price for his limit order (which is probably higher looking at the screenshot). The 5 minute chart is still within range to show the peak and is accurate up to a fraction of a pip. That makes this method...

    Oanda - Wtf ?????!!!!!!!

forestgril: select add studies at the bottom left of the chart, select price overlay and select high bid. Did the highest bid price equal or exceed your limit order price? The highest bid shows here as 1.54006 (second peak). Your limit order is at least 1.54019. So no fill.

    Forex charts with volume

http://www.netdania.com/ChartApplet.asp Has a volume button at the top. It looks very fake however, the same pattern keeps repeating over and over. I'm not sure how they calculate the volume.

    Fundamental News Sources

What news sources on the internet do you use to get fundamental news? I'm looking for news sources that offer a fundamental view and focusses on the medium term. I don't really need to know what the projection is for some irrelevant number coming out tomorrow. Things like interest rate...

    C++ Compilers.

By Visual Basic, do you mean the classic Visual Basic 6 or VB.net? That's a significant difference. I don't think you really need c++ performance wise, many professional applications with huge load were written in c# or Java. These languages also take care of things like garbage collection for...

    Question on Rollover

Even in the case of bucketshops, you buy and sell currencies only now with the broker as counterparty to your trade. I think you are wildly misinformed about the forex market considering your other posts as well. fx_trader1234: Premium rollover rates sound shady to me. There are enough...

Retail forex traders don't move the market at all?

I think you got confused. There is no 'the market'; fx is decentralized (i.e. many markets). Your trades do not affect the market because the size is too small, not because the trades are 'bucketed' (whatever that may mean). All these small markets are in sync, because the broker often ofsets...
