    Opening Orders - 2008

Not so for me. Maybe I trade differently when I have 3-4 closed trades and am green on the P/L. A sucker is a sucker for me, it just gets averaged down when I have many fills.

    Opening Orders - 2008

If you take an average of 5 cents per share, 5 fills per day it makes 25 cents. 25 cents on 100 shares each = 25$, 250$ on 1000 shares. 0.05 average per share is a good number so you may do the numbers with 0.02 as pessimistic. To make yourself a realistic average you can scan through the...

    Opening Orders - 2008

It does. There is not a big gap between winning and losing. But I think there is something to do.

    Opening Orders - 2008

For me if I trade 100 shares and make 10 cents I say +0.10 average. So it's one side and it make sense that way!

    trading a 5 sec chart?

As I said, not if there is a lot of volatility. Spread 2-9 and you expect a 60-100 pip move in 2-5 minutes gives you a good risk reward ratio.

    trading a 5 sec chart?

I dont use the 5 sec but the tick. Usefull for entry point. If you want to play the 5 sec with confirmation from the 5 minutes, 10 minutes... you want to do that in periods of high volatility otherwise the spreads will eat you. Good for news. Au plaisir cousin.

    Quick IB Commish Question

If you take the time to read you will see that there are 2 fee schedule at IB. One is a fix 0.50 and the other is 0.35 to IB and then you add/subscract exchange fees/rebate. So both are true. 4.75 was not round trip.

To make a living you need at least 300k in your account?

I guess it depends if you have money to support yourself (and familly!) on the side. Also, you start from scratch or you already know how to trade.

    ONE pip spread

Oh, 0.5 with IB as long as I remember. Not always but usually. But you have a 2.50$ comish per trade. If you play some size it's worth it. Leverage only at 50.

If someone from an unknown insurance company knocked to your door, you you buy his shit? Same thing.

    Credit Default Swaps (CDS) wtf?

You are right, this is hardcore capitalism. But I think you miss something. Do you do buy your groceries at a dirty cheap ass chineese end of street kind of place or do you go to a reputable business where you expect fresh products and things? Obviously, you get your stuff where you feel safe...

    Goodbye!

Re-read and see that he's not talking about pot for making a "legalize now" statement but the fact that it's illegal for business reasons.

    Gold ETs vs Physical Gold

When you buy physical you go somewhere they will sell it to you. usually they make a spread on both the buying and the selling. On coins it can be a large spread, unless you are buyin a lot. We are talking dollars on the ounce, not pennies like with ETFs. Look at Kitco for 1 oz Maple Olympic...
