How long until chasinfla leads Don in posts?

I would say that Chas, Darkhorse, and Don Bright are all very prolific and more often than not are interesting to read. While I find the fart humor and bad mouthing of vendors by many to be fun it really doesn't add value. The aforementioned almost always add value to the site and take...

    NVDA - Screaming buy?

Dot, That is a good point. The other thing I will add is that WCON had about $12 per share in assets according to Value Line. Not trying to sway anyone one way or another, and by definition a bear market ends when the maximum number of stocks make a new low. But that in and of itself...

    NVDA - Screaming buy?

I don't play too many games, other than free cell and don't know much about the product. But what are all the people who bought at 20 30 40 50 going to do when it starts to go up? I just finished with today's charts, all except the new lows, and I filter, 380. New highs, 30. That was...

    Trader's girlfriend

Hi, Im a traders girlfriend. My man is always looking at charts. When we are at the store he always tries to knockem down an eighth. One day I asked him what a spread was, and boy did he show me. And Limit Down, he has some weird hand signals when he wants that. Hang tough sister.

    itemized deductions

Cracked, I am in Raleigh, NC. I usually work until around 2-3 in the morning. Sometimes though I take a nap during the day. That is a good deduction. Thee are millions of people Im sure who do similar things. I remember my tax prof saying that when they started requiring SS # for...

    itemized deductions

I agree with the both Cal and Cracked. The other issue I suppose is cost. And if you are examining a complex issue it may serve you to talk to more than one professional. With that said, cost for services should be a concern. A business owner I know called me to discuss setting up a small...

    itemized deductions

My favorite was a guy who made some major $$$$. After I complete the return my partner says so and so forgot that he sold a business last year we need to add 500K to his return. Hope my memory gets that bad some day. Have a good one.

    itemized deductions

Yeah, I busted my ass for 4 months to pass the CPA, was at work two days and felt like I made the biggest mistake of my life. I missed the part in the book about bringing lunch for the group and massive data entry. My first job was to enter about 1200 assets in to a depreciation schedule...

    itemized deductions

Cracked, I agree with you if you have an existing business, I misread that part. The deduction is limited to actual business time spent searching for a new location. And the IRS is pretty clear on what is and is not deductible. It is not like AMT or something nebulous like that. My...

    itemized deductions

P2, Read the pub I linked you up with. It is 100% completely illegal. If your trip is for business purposes only you can deduct your expenses. If your family goes with you, they do not get a deduction. It can not be spelled out an clearer by the irs that no business purpose equals no...

    NVDA - Screaming buy?

Didn't they just warn on earnings? Also, they took out their september low, not a good sign. When CSCO was at 60 I thought man if it ever gets to $20 Im going load up.

    SEC reviewing short sale rules

Yeah, that's what the model was in Japan, and we see how well that has worked. Nothing like a 10 year recession to shake things up. I have never been a big short seller, but people should come to realize that many shorts do a lot of research to dig up dirt on companies. Sold Short by Asenio...

    SEC reviewing short sale rules

One funny webpage I was on was MSTR on Yahoo. This was around the time that the company was asking it's customers to have their brokers take their stock out of the street name, to squeeze the shorts. At the same time the CEO or whatever he was was selling 10,000 shares a month. The "Mother of...

    Nuts and Bolts of Pairs

I wonder if you could use a beta or RSI calculation from one of the charting packages to back into this? All things being equal a beta of 0 would be perfectly correlated, and I guess a RSI (99 +1)/2 of 50 would combine the best and worst performing stocks.

    Nuts and Bolts of Pairs

Bung, I have been working this into my strategy with some success, so I will just share a few ideas. With ETFs, it makes sense to pair these with another ETF since the moves are about the same. I have hedged some shorts against some etfs, but the problem is that on an up day, my shorts go...
