    Thirsty's options

Based on the closing bid of 2.35 I am down .55 on entry 1 and .25 on entry 2 These 2 positions represent 1/4 of my account. At an average loss of .4 on a cost basis of 2.75. That is a 14.5% loss on the current position or 3.6% of my entire option trading portfolio. Given MSFT's news...

    Thirsty's options

It was an estimation. I didn't say I was going to buy 1/4 at each of those .2 increments. I was just thinking my eventual position will have a price of around 2.6. Looks like that avg will be cheaper. I am waiting for the dust to settle and will be buying those 1/4 increments in the coming...

    Thirsty's options

I already stated that I am looking for a pullback to add. Even going as far as speculating my avg price should be around 2.6. I picked up my first at 2.9. In order to achieve 2.6 avg, I would need to pick up the rest at 2.7, 2.5, 2.3. NQ has outperformed spx and indu in the past few...

    Thirsty's options

Hey everyone has an opinion. If a poor man can give me trading ideas that are consistently profitable, I would be ecstatic. I am not here to brag about how big or small my portfolio is. I am merely here to post my trading ideas. Lets for sake of argument say i'm long 100 contracts.

    Thirsty's options

well let's assume i am trading with 1000 dollars. I have bought 1/4 of my desired position, which is half my capital, or 125 dollars worth. Keeping in mind my stop loss is at 1.8. Currently my risk is (1.1/2.9), 38% potential loss. so I am risking 47 dollars. On a percentage of portfolio...

    Thirsty's options

I plan to allocate 50% of my option trading account into this trade. I have bought 1/4 of the position I am looking to own. I am hoping for weakness to pick up the rest. So 12.5% of my option portfolio. I think the number of contracts is irrelevant, more so, how much of my portfolio am I...

    Thirsty's options

So I had been just posting my trade on mutioption's thread. I figure I'd start my own. Most recently, i closed out a itm call option on SUNW. Given the strength of today's rally, I bought QQQQ April 39 calls for 2.9. Stop at 1.8, target 4.4.

    My Options Play

The premise of my option trade is based on the potential of a increased trading range of a stock. From my analysis, I believe SUNW is soon to break out of its range. Even if it doesn't, there isn't much premium to lose. SUNW is one of those stocks that traders no longer want to trade. For...

    My Options Play

I added to my SUNW holding by buying the April 4 calls for .55. Bought 400 contracts. Still holding the March 4 calls. Looking for SUNW to hit 5 in the coming days.

    My Options Play

I alott a small amount of my account to play stocks on the first day of a break out. SCLN had a positive excursion of 10 cents on a 25 cent cost basis. I go out as it lost volume and I remained break even on the trade. I considered JDSU, GLW, and a few other stocks, but for me, SUNW...

    My Options Play

the options essentially has no premium. I'm basically just trading the underlying, no sophisticated option analysis, simply playing the stock without as much money on the table..

    February was Good, but.....

selling options naked isn't for the inexperienced nor the undercapitalized. Please be careful... be sure to use stops. It doesn't sound like you are using stops either. Lasting long term requires small losses and consistently bigger profits. Don't end up doing the reverse. Best of luck.

    Tax Question..

For your losses in 2004, did you take a 3000 deduction? If so, then you would have then carried over 4k of capital losses into 2005. Your 10k gain would net against the 4k, and you would have 6k of gains. 60% of which is taxed at long term capital gain, the other 40% at short term. Hope that...
