    Plan to Become Broker

The odds against anyone being able to retire at 30 are very slim. And the ones that can, normally don't want to.

What are the downsides of CFDS?

DMA = Direct Market Access. That means the pricing o the CFDs is exactly the same as the pricing on the shares on the cash market. For example, if you wanted to buy 1,000 HSBA in the cash market the price might be 400-401. If you wanted to buy those same shares using a CFD the price would...

What are the downsides of CFDS?

Interactive Brokers (in Europe) is the sort of firm you should be looking to deal CFDs, they offer DMA (ie same prices as the cash market). I'd advise you look at them before some smaller broker and if you ever get called by a firm regulated out of Cyprus, RUN.

What are the downsides of CFDS?

All day traders are trading them in Europe (certainly the UK because they don't charge a 0.5% duty). But they trade them direct market access not some crappy brokers price. As far as the salesmen goes, BE CAREFUL if he's offering you a 'managed account', as a) 95% chance you won't make any...

    Do you trade laying down

The desk I actually bought was 180cm wide, the one listed above was the 160cm model.

    Do you trade laying down

If you do make the move to sit-stand you'll also have to buy a computer bracket that secures your PC(s) to the underside of the desk. I bought this one from Amazon, it's works well.

    Do you trade laying down

I just bought one of those electric sit-stand desks and they're really good (for me anyway). 1) I had a niggling shoulder problem, just a slight discomfort that I was getting every morning when I naturally slumped over my desk. Yes, I tried sitting upright and but my body soon started slumping...

Dax/FTSE futures data too thin to work with?

Dax has plenty of volume at 100k+ a day. Look at its size, it's a mega contract. 25 Euros a point x 9750 = E240k If you're trading under 25 lots the volume is no problem. Sure, you'll get slippage and it can have volume vacuums, but that's just the nature of the beast. Get it right and you've...

    Crisis in Cryptoland

Yep, heard it's a big problem but politics (within the BitCoin movers and shakers) is gridlocking the right decisions that have to be made. Some big time BTer (don't knowhis name but easy to find out), recently left the arena and sold all his coins because he can't see a future with all the...

Serious question: What makes a successful daytrader? Is it consistent daily wins, or more wins?

I'd just like to add that sometimes I have problems but when I look at the market after the close and where I went wrong guess where what my problems are related to - either not concentrating enough or not patient enough. EVERYDAY we have to work at concentration and patience, it doesn't get...

Serious question: What makes a successful daytrader? Is it consistent daily wins, or more wins?

What makes a successful day trader? Concentration + patience IMHO. Look hard at not just last week's trading but the last several months. I would bet a lot of money your problems are because a) you're not concentrating enough, and/or b) you're not patient enough. As for you trying to buy...

    Curved 34" monitor

Be careful with multi-monitors though. A trader should only have as many as he really needs and NO more. I have 6 because I was losing concentration flipping between the 5-6 markets I follow with 2-3 27" monitors. Now I can look and pontificate and keep track of everything a lot easier. Most of...

Here you go Nitro. Still got to sort the wires out. PC is nothing special, i5 + 18GB Ram. SSD for fast booting. Wired keyboard + programmable mouse and also the Logitech G13 for programmable short cuts. Software is Ensign for Windows which I love. Dax is the middle monitor. Charts are...

Interactive Brokers Secure Login: mobile app or card?

I use the plastic credit card with all the numbers printed on it. It works, obviously! A good idea is to make a scan of it then encrypt that file (using PGP) and keep a copy on every computer you use.

    Curved 34" monitor

Just installed 6 of the AOC 34" widescreens (not curved) and am very happy. Used a Vision Tek graphics card (about $250) but the AMD Firepro 4100 is probably a better option but you need two of them. Running at 3440x1800. 3 large charts per screen, 3 markets followed, Cable, Euro and EUR-AUD...

Wall Street Traders Are About To Be In A World Of Pain Read more: http://www.busines

EXACTLY! For example, think about all the hedging that needs to be done. Many of these traders will be given some leeway of when to hedge, they're not going to be using computers. Once you have that human element you've got fear and greed and once you have that the markets offer OPPORTUNITY...
