Have you had the chance to test execution times during market news to see if you can actually get these prices during market news? Id be suprised that fxcm has access to banks which offer such better prices than oanda during news releases. I could be wrong.

I am not 100% familiar with how all this works. The reason I would have an issue with IB taking the other side of my positions is that they then have an interest in seeing my trades fail. Its like a doctor owning the graveyard next door :p I am unsure if there is anything they could actively do...

Thats the issue. I want the fast execution of the dealing desk against other clients, as if I could afford a seat on an exchange. But I want it to be accurate and not have to worry about the price not reflecting the market so they can make an extra buck. Their money should come from a padded...

Note that I did not present the idea of FXCM manipulating as an anguement or fact in support of my views. Merely as a possibility of an explaination of what I saw in thier market data. Also I have read online that there are some litigations against FXCM along these lines so maybe it would'nt...

Iv heard this before that small arbs cant correct the market, and i agree that its rare to see bid / ask sizes less than 1mm on major price pairs for each level. Thats why you kept taking advantage of it until its fixes itself. Ie. keep bringing generators until the people who are selling them...

Hmmm... I don’t think you understand. Picking off slow prices? I have no clue what you mean by slow prices, I will assume you mean prices which are off what the rest of the market is at and have not correct yet. This leads me to believe you do not understand how these prices correct themselves...

Looking at the bid ask sizes on a future such as YM. Its frequently below 10. Would'nt ten small fries each buying 1 contract each cause the price to move a level, even if its only for a short period of time? (when the size is below 10) Correct me if i'm wrong.

I've been wondering about the reason why T28 would post this great method so publicly for free. I guess given a good system, a slightly slower reacting system which was publicly disclosed and used by enough people would help move the market in the correct direction after the original system...

I never attempted to trade on their no dealing desk acocunts during news events, the spreads were too high compared to other brokers.

compared trading on the dealing desk, the differences are night and day. It all depends on what you are looking for. Compared to Oanda and IB, fxcm's no dealing desk has no advantages over them in my opinion.
