    IncreaseNow's "Sell/Short" Futures Journal

I trade for money and not for excitement. Stocks make more sense to me because there are thousands of stocks everyday that have potential to move. Even on the slowest, most least volatile days of the year there are good opportunities to make money in the stock market. For futures, if your...

    IncreaseNow's "Sell/Short" Futures Journal

Any expert jumps back and forth before they find their specialty? Don't you mean any novice jumps back and forth before they find their specialty? If you don't commit to something long enough, whether it be a trading product, an indicator, a trading style, or a trading strategy you'll end up...

    IncreaseNow's "Sell/Short" Futures Journal

This is the worst thread I've ever seen. I read the first 25 pages of this thread and they consisted of about 3 or 4 total trades. You constantly ask the same questions over and over again seemingly never to actually do any real research on your own to arrive at a conclusion. Instead you ask...

Is this the reason why so many fail?

Riding your winners is definitely important. I believe cutting your losses quickly is even more important. All it takes is a few out of control losers to wipe out all of that profit you earned on "pushing" your winners.

How to get your trading CAREER started...

Finding a job as a trader isn't very hard if you're really committed to finding a seat on a desk (the hard part is keeping that seat)....with the OPs credentials his best options are: - true prop desks (they capitalize you and offer guidance) - retail desks (you capitalize and they lever you)...

Any Prop Blew Up on May 6th?

I may not agree with the way in which you said it, but you're spot on stock777. Deciding to hold the position for the INEVITABLE 10min jam job is certainly not called trading (unless you call it bad trading)...it's simply gambling. It sucks you lost so much and I genuinely hope that you get...

    Daytrader lifestyle =boring

Yep. You can just feel the animosity.

    Daytrader lifestyle =boring

Die. You've clearly never met a successful daytrader. I love how people talk about how much the daytrading CAREER sucks as if going to their 9-to-5 JOB that they hate is anywhere near comparable to successful trading. Also I love how people that primarily swing-trade (only talking about...

best books you've read on trading

I've read several books on the markets....just received How I Made $2,000,000 In The Stock Market by Nicolas Darvas...seems like an easy read and it comes highly recommended by a few traders that I respect very much. Its pretty good so far...only on the 3rd chapter.

In Rand Paul's world, does a private doctor get to refuse treatment to a black man?

Interesting. I wonder if Rand Paul is named after Ayn Rand.

dang whats going on with the futures?

    - Korean tension (1st time I've ever heard NK ready soldiers for combat) - UK cutting $9 billion from government spending this year, with the promise of deeper cuts to be announced later in the year - Britain’s debt will rise to 77 percent of gross domestic product this year and may...

Any Prop Blew Up on May 6th?

I don't believe it was a computer glitch. Whatever happened was intentional IMO. I don't think that the purveyors of that intentional action of pulling liquidity imagined (they may not have cared) a cascade of that magnitude would occur (if they did imagine that---wow). I think it was/is...

What did it mean to finally "get it" to you? "Get it"=becoming profitable

Interesting approach. I just began meditating regularly and I already feel quite differently during trading. I've found that meditation helps me to focus only on the moment at hand --- the trade -- as opposed to other factors unrelated to the trade. I can only imagine the effects of daily...

    An evening with the Flipper

Why would he work at Mcdonalds after making 8 digits/year for 10 consecutive years? I remember reading this interview before I started trading. I'm a good trader but not a great trader because I've restricted my tier size to some extent. There are times when I size up beyond what I normally...

    "Working alone" when trading...

It all depends on your personality. I began trading alone after a few of my friends went to a different firm. I think trading alone suits me very well. Although I can't completely discount the value of having other good traders around. You see more potential opportunities than you ever would alone.

    Alternatives to Prop Firms?

This thread is getting even more hilarious. Damn't I need to go to bed, but I think I'll finish it. Lol!!!

    Alternatives to Prop Firms?

Haven't read it all yet, but this thread is hilarious. Just a comment about prop firms my man. It sounds like the "prop" firm you were a part of was actually what is now called "retail in disguise". A true prop firm would not require that you put up a deposit. A true prop firm would capitalize...

What did it mean to finally "get it" to you? "Get it"=becoming profitable

Making it easy for some people. But for something like 95% of the people that attempt this career it's incredibly difficult.
