Perhaps.. Although whether or not this answers my original question is yet to be seen. However, I figure if I ask the man to help me the least I can do is follow his instructions. It may take a while but eventually we will probably get to the answer.. There are no handouts here :D

Today's chart

It is a 'chubby tape'. For all intents and purposes, it is equivalent to a traverse except for the construction of it. Spyder annotates both traverse and chubby tape in the same manner HTH

This makes sense for the first bar in question (12:10). However, on Spyder's chart he has a pt3 annotated for the dominant traverse at 12:20. There still seems to be no answer to why the other two bars mentioned (12:25 and 12:45) CANNOT be FTTs. I figure he mentioned those specifically for a...

As a follow up, does anyone have the answer to how one can 'know' these bars cannot form an ftt in realtime? My interpretation: harder to put into words than I thought... I will be working on it

ftt of a tape cant end a traverse can it? Shouldnt you be waiting on a down tape/lateral to form a pt3 before looking for an ftt?

The pt3 is right where the red vol picks up near the right side of the snip. I guess it would be an FT3 as incr vol, pt3 and ftt all on same bar. Obviously a traverse is expected to be created and that doesnt happen. This is all hypothetical of course as this is probably not a valid sequence.

One more possibility.. L2R lateral retrace

I noticed that 'retrace of a retrace' typically has an FTT on the first dominant move after the traverse is in place (meaning an FTT prior to VE/flaw). I noticed Spyder didnt have this channel in place but I thought maybe he just deleted it later. More likely that it is incorrect, but I cant...
