    Obama and oil co. subsidies

OK, a couple of points of agreement. Cars and oil company subsidies. Well, it's a start. c

Re-watching it again now. A great review for everyone to watch. I hope they do. The intro is pretty good as well. c

    Obama and oil co. subsidies

Or, as with the 'righties' desires for government, perhaps the oil companies can get by with lower profits to keep market share. Lower costs for government, good, right? Pay less to oil companies, but then they have to actually trim costs to continue to make money, not good? I say, good...

Doing my part to curb carbon emissions LOL

OK, LOL. No more 'k' word. I was just laughing at all that anyway. The 56 Ford. My boss at the gas station I worked at while in 10th grade, had a beautiful Ford sedan as well. He put in a 392 that was blueprinted, basic street headers, and this thing rocked, even with the automatic in the...

    Obama and oil co. subsidies

Maybe you were typing at the same time. I agree that there are some good subsidies and some pretty lame ones, like the oil companies at this point in time. c

    Obama and oil co. subsidies

Including Gov. Christies tax credits where he is paying back money that was never even earned or taxed? Just clarifying. All grants to colleges? All medical research gov't grants? Even the guy with the question marks on his shirt selling a book about how to get gov't grants? I'm for using...

    Obama and oil co. subsidies

OK, how do we feel about the oil subsidies being paid from our taxes to the oil companies who have record profits? I noticed that many are against any type of tax credit, assistance, even unemployment, but how about XOM receiving $billions in assistance, subsidies, use whatever word you like...

Doing my part to curb carbon emissions LOL

Pretty funny, and likely true. I like all types of cars, I know 'kumbaya' again, but I've had so many cars that I can't honestly say that one 'brand' is better than the other. Perhaps during certain years, time frames, that type of thing, but not overall. c

Doing my part to curb carbon emissions LOL

I just noticed, if we keep chatting about cars, we might even get along and have some fun. So, no more cars, back to yelling and calling each other names. Kidding of course. Is that 'Kumbaya" I hear again in the background? No 'c' this time, keep everyone happy.

Doing my part to curb carbon emissions LOL

Tell me about it. Used to be able to drive a few miles out of town, both in the midwest, and even in CA to run a bit. The engine is rebuilt with no miles on it, and the guy who did the work offered me $5,000 for it. I laughed and said add another zero to it. Maybe $15K or so is more real...

1967 427 Chevy, L-88, with aluminum heads. Easy 500 HP. Had one in the old days, have engine now, looking for a decent car to put it in. c

    Chicken hawks for president

Yep, and to address RP's foreign policy, how awful to not want to send other people's kids to fight and die for (insert latest fiasco/crisis). When re-instituting the draft comes up, things get pretty quiet on the Chicken Hawk front. Viet Nam was horrifying, Iraq 1 and 2 just stupid, and...

Chris Christie Steam rolls another Obama Zombie.

Christie says he's glad to put it to a vote, but democrats don't want a vote. Christie and most state Republican lawmakers want gay marriage put to a popular vote. Democrats say gay marriage is a civil right protected by the Constitution and not subject to referendum. and: The 42-33 vote...

Higher taxes does NOT equal higher revenues: PROOF

She raised taxes and lowered spending. All this with 'socialized medicine' since the 1940's. With citizenry not burdened with high health insurance costs, this leaves room for other useful political ambitions. Single payer pretty much. We, in the US have about half our people covered by 'single...

Higher taxes does NOT equal higher revenues: PROOF

Do Tax Cuts Ever Increase Government Revenues? Three historical examples of tax cuts paying for themselves, and how they undercut the GOP claim that tax cuts always do that. Nice link, and makes sense. I think that when politicians and economists get together, anything and nothing gets...

Why a brokered convention is bad news for Obama

I stated early on that Christie would certainly help the GOP. Heard him on Imus this morning, and he is still staying away from 2012. Sounds more like a 2016 plan, sort of a 'duh' - but it does make more sense for him to wait. Intrade still shows 78% or so for Mr. Mitt, a bit high as we look...

Doing my part to curb carbon emissions LOL

It really is amazing how they're getting so much horsepower and torque these days, seriously. My big block from 'long ago' has about 450hp, but gets about 12 MPH. And, I have to add fuel additive just for that. I try to offset by driving my regular cars more often. Keeping the 'fun fleet' only...

Chris Christie is beating the **** out of Piers Morgan

OK, no, I'm saying that if I took the road that so many do on these threads that I, too, could come off like a putz by stating that, A poor attempt at sarcasm I guess. c
