S&P 500 Sector ETF Momentum Rankings

I had gotten scared of a big loss coming along and I went to using DITM LEAPS long options and holding onto them waiting for them to finally make a profit and my account didn't grow like it did when I was using tastytrade principles, so I went back to using tastytrade principles.

Might as well use all four MACDs.

I think it's simpler to use 200 days. It ain't exactly rocket science.

I think my favorite "Awesome Oscillator" setup will always be 5-34-34 and 34-5-34 MACDs.

I needed something on the chart so I don't skimp on buying long options DITM.

    Stamps.com trade from Trade Alert

I use the top MACD for calls and the bottom MACD for puts. I won't always get it right, but I shouldn't have gone with calls for STMP when puts had such a good track record. And my long call was a 45 and it should have been 30 or lower, but who knew it would fall that far?

    Stamps.com trade from Trade Alert

I use Snider Advisors and I had STMP recommended to me as a covered call and I lost my whole call diagonal. I learned from that deal to read a chart to select whether to use a call diagonal or put diagonal on their recommendations and to buy my long option longer out in time and deeper in the...

New to trading options. Need advice on Put option now in bankruptcy

Trading on WFT was suspended, huh? Well, you're obligated to get something out of your put sooner or later. Just a penny stock anyway.

New to trading options. Need advice on Put option now in bankruptcy

Not necessarily. It's just that sometimes like when PCG crashed in January if you wait too long the price goes back up.

Take the money and run. It's just a matter of figuring out the best opportunity without botching it and letting the opportunity slip away.

Would need to know the strike price and expiration date to make a plan.

You probably don't have anything to worry about, but you probably won't get rich from it, just thinking.

I needed a chart a little more long-range for choosing calls and puts.

I think being in calls in positive Awesome Oscillator divergence and being in puts in negative Awesome Oscillator divergence is about as good a strategy as I'll find.

Another way to decide whether to go calls or puts is to figure what gives the most attractive return on the calculator. And make sure you buy long options DITM so your diagonal isn't suddenly out of business if the stock price makes a major move against you.

I did some customizing to the MACD, and I think it pretty much takes the debate out of whether to use calls or puts.

    Good book

It's obviously a good book. The question is, if you've already learned that several times when you learned the basics of options, do you need to go into detail on it again?

The way I see it, you gotta sell premium on stocks that pay good ITM on the next expiration date, preferably quite a ways ITM, and preferably on both the call and put side if you're inclined to go either way. And this idea of collecting premiums to get your cost basis down is baloney because...

I closed out most of the LEAPS diagonals that were overall profitable so I didn't have to wait on them and freed up a lot of trading capital for shorter-term diagonals and kept the LEAPS diagonals that were overall unprofitable so I can keep a better look at them for a chance to unload them at a...

I was looking for a good screener for diagonal spread candidates and I think I'll go to Snider Advisors Free Covered Call Screener and run tests on the best-looking stocks (ETFs don’t seem to work as well as stocks) on both the call side and the put side.
