    Magic and the "subconscious"

was quite surprised to see the length of this thread...then again who doesn't like magic/k!!! imo, i am a believer in the self-ability to change/bend one's perception to a different level. My belief stops at the ability to alter your perception so much that others begin to see it as...

    Trading systems

How do you think the rules of a trading system should be? ....the K.I.S.S method (keep it simple, stupid) or very structured and detailed with branching options based on unique situations. In other words, should THE RULES of a system try to keep the whole thing simple and straight forward or...

    NLP...care to share?

I have tried some self-hypnotic stuff (free and very professional and good for the price) and found good results. I do agree that you have to be willing and open for such things to be effective. However, if your brain believes something than it is as good as true! (unless it is severe...

    self-sabotage

indeed a good thread... let me throw a different approach to handling this. Exercise. I run at a competitive level and find that this self-reflecting time each day lowers stress (as all good exercise does) AND makes it easier to focus on the bigger picture thus making these short-term...

It's all about being disciplined and organized

after checking out the site (though only a few minutes I admit), it seems to be a useful tool to document and analyze your actions. However, where does this software help to make you more disciplined? Unless you can throw in some kind of features that suddenly alert a user when he is breaking...

The next 2 days will tell the tale...

From what i have observed, many (and i mean many) of the large stocks finished the day with short MA and long MA converging and prices balancing on thin ranges....not sure which way to go though, bull or bear. but definetly some big movement tomorrow.

Make your money work for you

back on track.... I agree somewhat with CW. on this topic. I believe in the whole "work smarter not harder" thing and think that laziness is a factor in the trading game even though many have argued otherwise. We trade from our homes to avoid all the stressed out, fast paced, bull that...

    GOOG worth $30/share? (per Hussman)

This argument is rarely used properly. Whenever someone makes a downward turn-around, a few people always jump in and call them bears and that they should go with the market and not miss opportunities. I have no reason to believe that anyone here (on this thread) is a bear and bear alone. I...

    GOOG worth $30/share? (per Hussman)

How about this question: So Goog is $400+ now and whether or not you think it is overbought, undervalued, or right on....what do you think it will take to send the price down (at least 25%)? A poor earnings report? A new competitor arising? or just a matter of time?

    Fundamental Nonsense

hmmmm so a company with poor customer service = poor long investment?!? i'm pretty sure you could call some places (like AAPL) and not have superior customer service and the company could still be fundamentally sound and a good investment (buy). Vice a versa, call a place with...

    Options Quiz

This is an entertaining thread:p So this whole thing is about risk management. If you invest your money anywhere, there is always a risk. period. To think that this put+cd "strategy":P is risk free is the exact same as saying you can buy a $3.70 put and put the rest of a $10,000...
