Ha - did you used to work on their dealing desk and have first hand experience of how they rip off clients on an individual basis??

    GFS Forex & Futures

No direct experience with them, but I know they are one of the few "real" STP brokers out there. I know a group of guys in Colorado who trade with them and swear by their execution. it seems to be a fixed spread/STP model though, which I have never really heard of and dont fully understand.

anyone look at Oil, Gold, SP500 when trading Forex?

Short, sweet, and terribly oversimplifed answer is that Oil and CAD move together, so oil goes up, USDCAD go down. Gold and AUD and NZD move together, so Gold goes up, AUDUSD and NZDUSD go up.

    FXCM blows up managed accounts

Any FDM that doesnt offset 100% of their trades makes more money when you lose money. If I make more money when you lose and I have 3 choices which am i going to choose? a) offer a managed account program that makes money for my clients b) offer a managed account that loses money for my...

    mgforex new trading platform?

I'd agree that very few retail trades are actually heged out. I guess the point I was trying to make was that if the NFA cracks down on the FDMs ability to tamper with trades - manipulating prices, forced slippage, hunting stops, etc. - then the FDMs are going to have to hedge out more trades...

    mgforex new trading platform?

Regarding the spreads - I understand cabletrader that you think these are high, but if you look at some of the new rules proposed by the NFA, especially limiting FDMs from making any post-trade-trade-adjustments, it leads me to beleive we may be at the beginning of an upward trend in terms of...

    Proposed NFA Capital Requirement

Ha - and so comes to a close my days of trading with hotspot. One of my accounts is there - and i dont care how many times FXCM tells me they dont take the oppopsite side of trades, i will never believe them. Especially if the risk disclosure on their application doesnt change and stop telling...

Currency Pro's--- Does This Sound Viable?

I actually did this for a little while about a year ago. The broker with the interest free accounts charged a $5 fixed rollover fee, and at the time, i was earning about $30 a lot on the GBPJPY with a different broker. Its not going to make you rich unless you have millions. Eventually though...

    question

5pm EST rollover is pretty much the standard. Depending on the platform, you'll either get logged off or the prices will freeze for a couple minutes. This is when you are credited/debited rollover interest for any open positions.

    Automated Systems

An automated system may work for a while. In all of my time in this business though, ive never seen one work consisteny over time. With EAs or a tradestation backtested system it is fairly easy to optimize based on historical data and often that optimization will continue to be profitable for...

    A scalping ECN Forex broker?

You can get a pretty good idea if a broker is a mm or ecn/stp by reading the part of their disclosure on the customer applications that are in all capital letters. Most will say somehting along the lines of "ABC BROKER IS THE COUNTERPARTY TO YOUR TRADES AND MAY PROFIT WHEN YOU LOSE. FROM TIME...
