    Questrade

I trade over 20 stocks a day so it's more likely they'd be squeezing my wallet out of my ass pocket.

    Questrade

On the other hand... 1. $25 per stock fee every day - better than $1000 in commissions Depends how many stocks you trade. Trade 3 names a day and it's peanuts. Trade 15+ symbols in a day and $25 per name is ridiculous. 2. You pay 7% GST on all your profits - everybody pays taxes...

    1. $25 per stock fee every day 2. You pay 7% GST on all your profits 3. NYSE trades are 1/2 cent per share extra 4. Some of the ECN pass-throughs are marked up 5. You must make a subordinated loan to open an account and your funds are not covered by CIPF 6. Seat fees 7. $5 per day...

    firm a fake?

They're a middleman, and middlemen take a slice out of what would otherwise be yours. If you do any volume at all you don't need these guys.

    Exposing one Donald Bright

Hahahahaha "1 in several hundred" MY ASS! Do a past thread search and read all the complaints before you feed us this line... "Thanks to all the supporters"??? You mean that's not you supporting yourself under different aliases? Hehehe...

    Software platform for Bright

Just today? What the heck took Bright so long? No offense but did the criticism on these boards finally have an effect on your "software doesn't matter" attitude? Try not to mock me Don. There are countless features REDI doesn't have that I KNOW make (save) people money. I'll give you...

    Software platform for Bright

My experience is... * REDI+ comes out with bug fixes on a semi-regular basis, but new functionality releases are VERY RARE!!! They seem to have an "if it ain't broke don't add to it" mentality. * I hear that Bright's "proprietary" software consists of a simple Excel spreadsheet for S&P...

A list of what I like about Don Bright and Bright Trading

Fact correction: Don Bright makes peanuts--comparitively speaking. His brother Bob and partner Ed Franco are the REAL owners. Bob is just the "marketing" guy. Granted, however, he does a pretty good promo job as you can see from his number of posts on ET.

    Neovest "Thin"

Neovest thin is pathetic. My experience with their internet version was dreadful. The data was God-awfully slow (2-5 seconds) and terribly unreliable (countless missed ticks). Whats more, the filtering is essentially limitted to 100 symbols or so (since Neovest only lets you apply...

    Chicago trading firms.....

Mistruths seem to be anything that contradicts your opinion. ARCA server farms don't mean squat. Anyone with ARCA benefits from this. It's not REDI+ specific. REDI+ reliability is subpar according to every colleague I have in the business that uses it. That's why all of them are moving...

    Chicago trading firms.....

Don, There are far more than a "few" people who consider REDI+ inadequate. In fact, everyone I have ever known who has used REDI+ and one of the top tier competing platforms would never go back to REDI+. IMO, it's too unreliable, has a horrible support desk, and has far too limited...

    Self Clearing and Pricing

I REALLY hate responding negatively to every single thing you write and I don't want to come across as offensive. If you simply backed up your claims with facts, answered specific allegations (such as how ARCA will improve REDI+), and stopped using "congeniality" to redirect attention from the...

    Self Clearing and Pricing

Don, No offense but this is pure rubbish. I defy you to provide evidence of how the ARCA ECN will improve REDI+ software. Their architectures are not related in any meaningful way. Your uninformed and anti-technology stance has done nothing but disuade any intelligent trader seeking the...

    Self Clearing and Pricing

My 1 1/2 cents: * Don: Nice commercial. Bright offers capital, training, and OK commissions. But they have have a pisspoor execution system, no proprietary "trader tools," and bare-bones service--which I think DOES cost their traders money. * Volume: 1 cent per share is NOT a...

    Island Market Maker

I have a great base rate and pay .0019 for takes, while getting a .0011 rebate on adds. I'm wondering if these rates will change in any way with Island's new market maker model.

    Island Market Maker

Does anyone know whether this means that Island will no longer charge their .0019/share rate when you hit an ISLD bid (that is the national best bid) or take an ISLD offer (that is the national best offer)?

    Bright Vs Echo

Don, While I agree that it's important to have "owners" money in the firm I don't agree that it's the final decision-making criterion as you would like to have people believe. The truth is you play this capital card constantly because Bright (IMO) has no real competitive advantage besides...

    ARCA fees

ARCA does not pass through "pass throughs." So yes, you would only pay .004 on 1000 shares. But now that REDI and ARCA has merged, and now that SuperSOES fees are going up, ARCA fees may rise too. We'll find out pretty soon.
