    I think the economy is going to slow & the market, not the Fed, will start lowering the rates, with the Fed following. The budget cant sustain 5% interest on the national debt. The Fed knows this too.

    Bank CDs seem pretty safe, especially when $250k and under per institution. Why dont brokers allow them to be used as margin? There has to be a reason but I cant think of one.

    So, I can avoid all of that by just buying newly issued T-Bills, and not ones on the secondary market? The newly issued T-Bills only require the interest amount to be paid as another line on Schedule B?

    Thank you very much for the detailed reply! I read it all. It seems the most straightforward way to go is to buy a TBill at auction, and not the secondary market, thru a broker & hold until it matures and pay taxes on the interest received.
