    Best Day Trading Stocks

Jens, I looked at the chart you provide, and frankly am confused. My data provider (QQL) does not have the e-minis so I have not used futures for trading. On your chart it appears that the e-mini peaks 20 minutes before AMAT (9:55 vs 10:15). Is this possible ? Or is there a relative...

Babak - thanks for the synopsis. i definitely need to get some of the better books, when i started doing this i just grabbed a few off the shelf at Borders bookstore (you know, the rookie books with colorful jackets) - which books do you think are usefull? ktm, i'll address how i feel...

Wherefore Art Thou Difficult Trading Conditions?

candletrader, even tho' i have not participated in any of your active threads, i have been reading, enjoying, and learning from your posts...obviously others agree there is an old saying: one bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch (or something like that!). imo, if you quit ET then...

    interpreting block trades

looks like INTU just got another pop from somewhere...maybe it's the WSJ Online article ??? (dated Aug27, but i didn't see it on yahoo 'til this morning) solid companies with positive sentiment can be a real bummer!!!

    interpreting block trades

this is the reason my funds are tied up - and a stupid move on my part i shorted this one too soon (a common mistake for me), so i REALLY hope you are right unfortuately, AFTER i took my position i started reading and found out that INTU is a pretty solid company and a briefing.com...

    IB: The Party Is Over

traderx21: "If you've ever wondered why their customer service is so wretched at IB it's because they have THOUSANDS of accounts that do $40-80.00 per day, and soon most of these accounts WILL NOT BE TRADING ANYMORE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ANYWHERE. " so maybe one good thing, for the...

    Eye Strain from Trading

you may already be aware ...but the refresh rate of your video card is also a factor in eye strain the higher the better, 75 is often quoted as a minimum but 85 (i don't remember the units) is what my card does, and i haven't had a problem myself...fwiw

    a stock that took off

no, I couldn't because my funds are tied up right now but i'm really glad that thing finally broke down for you! that must have been an agonizing wait.... do you think it will go low 20's ? i heard something about positve comments in a Barron's article regarding VOD and that it will...

thanks for the responses... I have been watching INTU this week. They reported modestly positive earnings 8/22 (Tue) after close : $0.02 better than consensus and +17% yoy reveune. I actually counted the block trade (>10K) volume for the past 3 days. Here are the stats (in thousands)...

Deadline for New SEC Daytrading Margin Rule

Htrader, I think the confusion is in differentiating between Nasdaq's required implementation date and IB's arbitrarily chosen implementation date. As noted in this thread, IB is at liberty to fully enforce the rule before the official requirements. And from a software perspective it...

    interpreting block trades

thanks Babak... I have frequetly noticed that large trades are not even near the inside market. As noted, someone must be on both sides. But why would any market participant, for example, sell for .50 lower than the current offer? Could this be interpreted as bearish (for that stock)...

    interpreting block trades

On the T&S you see several big trades, say 25,000 shares each. For that stock this is a bullish sign because it indicates that an institution is opening/increasing a position, right? Or is it? There must be someone on both sides of a trade, and most individuals don't have 25,000 shares to...

Deadline for New SEC Daytrading Margin Rule

Htrader, Are you sure that IB will implement the rule for NASD at the end of Aug? Here is a post from a thread I started a few days ago on this same topic: I don't know which of you is correct, and it will become a moot point very soon anyway. But I am just curious, where did you get your...

NASD ever going to extend hours?

ddefina, i'm confused by your post, when you say 'extended hours' are you referring to 24 hr trading or trading 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m ? are you unable to trade NASD before 9:30 a.m. ??

    How low can you go?

IMHO, i also think we'll get near the april low (but maybe not all the way) Everyone in the market subscribes to Technical Analysis theories, it's mass group psychology. I think everyone expects and/or wants to see the double bottom - it would be self fullfulling prophecy. besides, the...

    Quicken Quotes Live

Eldredge, That's good to know - in fact the only good news I've had for a couple days. One problem with QQL allowing you to put so many windows in a workspace is that it makes them slow to close/open. But the ability to open the app twice opens up new possibilities. I have wanted to...

    Quicken Quotes Live

coops, the main point of this thread is the lack of eminis and my devious attempts to get everyone to badger QQL with requests to get them...so...email them! in the mean time one could use comp or one of the sector indices any other questions about QQL just post here
