How do I break in with a legit prop firm?

I second that. Depending on your strategy, keep in mind that there are other asset classes aside from stocks, where no such minimum applies.

    Surcap Trading anyone?

By TRT do you mean TST as in TopStepTrader or something else?

    Should I change my broker?

Just curious: without the data subscription at IB, does TWS still display the NBBO in real time or are you entering your orders blind?

    Scott Warner - Books

Futures Geometry I and II I assume. Aside from a LinkedIn profile for a "Cinden Management" which leads to a non-existent web site, I can't find any references to the guy. Where can we read more about his approach?

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

I can't for the life of me remember what book it was, but someone famous on the trading side referenced a book about horse race betting... Elder? Ahh, don't laugh! Jim Cramer: Picking Winners: A Horseplayer's Guide by Andrew Beyer. Have not read it, but your reference brought back this old...

So you mean that twice you were successful in the combine, moved up to LTP, and after 10 days of LTP you were moved back to the combine despite having been within LTP rules, without explanation? From what I understood from reading TST's FAQ several times, is that the LTP is a simulation just...

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

I kept an eye on @Scaleout.Scalper to eventually get a response about the channel thing, for fun. He just hasn't been anywhere on ET since I asked, so clearly he's not a regular (anymore).

Paper Trading Account for $1m? 3 years?

You have to have a live funded account with them, however. I believe @jr07 is looking for a stand-alone service.

Paper Trading Account for $1m? 3 years?

The only two venues I can think of are TradingView which is web-based and about to take paper trading out of beta, and TradingSim which is also web-based.

Why Do We Trade? For Real.

It depends on the type of day trading which is attempted, I think. For example, day trading in 2003 for me meant being trigger-happy with hot-key orders on breaks, usually at the market, and some trades lasting only a few minutes. That was a stressful roller-coaster I couldn't imagine myself...

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

"Correctly" implies that there is only one valid model (yours), and that's not constructive. I disagree with your choice of words, but agree with the basic principle if by "noise" you mean "under the recent swing low" or "above the recent swing high".

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

Noise can be a cute name for it, but "it" remains the sum of the behavior of all participants, not interference from variations in Jupiter's magnetic field.

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

    @dbphoenix I think that's the best-expressed explanation I've read from you since I've been catching up around here. It's a keeper. :D

Why Do We Trade? For Real.

Not to pile on, but in this case, you're completely off-topic regardless of intention. @cornix is surveying traders' individual goals and motivations, not calling for a debate about the validity of their activities or beliefs. Exactly not the subject of this thread. o_O There are already...
