You’re on the right track. Work hard at analyzing the different variables to: 1. Find positive expectancy 2. Find optimal risk/reward values 3. Have a handle on drawdown Not much more to it. Easier said than done though.

    Time series DB?

All this sounds Chinese to me. Forgive my ignorance, but how does a time series DB differ from just stored historical tick data? I'm confused

Is chart trading dead? (At least when it comes to ES)

Of course it is. Everyone wants to take the easy road. If there was any convincing evidence, there wouldn't be a need to slave away in front of historical price data.

Is chart trading dead? (At least when it comes to ES)

Looking to relocate. But to where?

Lots of beautiful, but backwards Eastern Euro states, and global ones as well. I know because I lived there. Problem is if you lived in the US your whole life, you’re a spoiled brat and likely won’t adjust. I recommended Southern Albania earlier because it’s a great place for me. I’m fluent and...

    What's better, systematic or discretionary?

Good point. World of difference between systematic and automated. The two shouldn’t be used synonymously.
