People really have a hard time understanding this. Just look at all the IB API python wrappers out there, and not one is trustworthy of executing even higher latency algos. You can be a high end coder, or high end trader, but not both. One doesn’t think like the other, and both are passions.

Do you really believe they would jeopardize guaranteed revenue for possible gambling revenue? Besides, most true edges aren’t statically grounded. They’re complex and shift with market conditions and regulations.

Honestly, I don’t think one is easier than the other.

@qxr1011 You nailed it. My feeling is mutual. Just too lazy to type it out. It seems OP is a smart guy, but after reading this one, I doubt he seriously trades using a haphazard approach like this.

Honestly, although I'm a purely technical/quantitative trader, IMHO a retail trader has a much higher probability of succeeding, just by managing portfolios based on pure fundamental analysis.

Not many retail alternatives in regards to commissions, product offerings, and back end capability.
