Filling an order from the specialist's batch?

if you trade a stock that has light volume and not very liquid and you trade with sizes of 1000shares...how will you get filled on New York if the price levels in the open book for that particular price level you are trying to get is less than 1000? Will the specialist fill you from his own...

    PL and more trades

It's weird, but everytime when I do well, I notice my PL indirectly and just not want to trade when an opportunity arises because I don't want to hurt the PL when in fact I could add to it. How do I correct this feeling? I trust my trading plan 100% but it's just those times when you look at...

For those that make 4 or 5 grand a day net

it just seems that the money is with position trading because of the efficiency per trade/shares used output if you are on the right side and have a proven systematic strategy. However, the biggest problem with me and position trading is that I was first taught how to scalp, and whenever I...

For scalpers, what technical indicators do you use?

can you illustrate an example in a situation where it's good to fish orders? I have heard fishing orders a lot but never got the idea of why one would do that

    Scalping.

the most looked after moves in scalping are market shorts, or market limit shorts in which if one uses a market order, the order gets filled after the move is completed. For example, you spot in the openbook an institutional size aggressively stepping down and you are very eager to short it...

    Best/useless Indicators/studies for 1min and 5min?

parabolic SARs can be helpful when you integrate it with other indicators. They can clue you in on entry/exits.

    Scalping.

    do you use the openbook?

    Scalping.

    a) 100%, or else it's a free ticket for the specialist to fuck you over. b) because of the above, 0%, although you can attempt to get price improvement when he spreads up and dumps an institutional size. c) 100%, again, you have the control, you set the limit. d) 0%, again, if you try...

For those that make 4 or 5 grand a day net

I may help, I'll try it. In the past, I bypassed good high probability setups as I did not want to "risk" , and just want to take it home.

For those that make 4 or 5 grand a day net

appreciate all the comments/discussion I just started trading and I am scalping. I am allowed $100,000 in trading power. There was a post somewhere towards the front where one said it may be difficult to imagine if one has not been there, and that is certainly the case with me at the moment...

How do you do it? I assume that you guys are swing traders as it may be possible to make that much in scalping, but the commissions are a big chunk...if you guys swing, how do you pick your stocks to trend for that day, and what indicators, etc...do you base your decisions off of?

the reason I ask is that I am relatively new to day trade professionally and I am just scalping equities. In terms of volitility, more volitle means more risk, but also more reward...

you will see size in the open book, and the size I see are "market shorts" where they keep stepping down until they get filled. Of course, I don't jump on any size just because there is size, I have to see it is aggressively stepping down, and keep getting bigger.

    TAPE READING (chat room cont.)

I was talking about market shorts yes where it the size keeps stepping down until it gets filled. Yes, it's hard to do these days, and certainly the commissions, and the risk/reward ratio do not make it easier, if impossible. Let me ask you this, what would you do today? Pair trade? Position...
