    anyone else notice this bullshit?

it's true, these sizes will never get hit/taken and once they are on the upper price level (1st, second), they get pulled away.

    anyone else notice this bullshit?

is it a blackbox program? I tried to look at time and quotes and got a little confused, has the time interval in between been the same?

I hardly use level 2 as well as in the openbook, you can see where the market shorts with huge sizes are at what price levels, but level two combined with the open book is nice as sometimes specialists would show a difference size (sometimes twice the size) in the openbook to collect shares for...

    anyone else notice this bullshit?

this appears in the openbook and when they are done, the chart will look like it's a zig zag. How does one profit from this bullshit? If there are sizes on the bid, you go short right? (sell high) as they will ikely appear on the offer, making the price in the next few seconds lower, and vice versa?

    anyone else notice this bullshit?

for the past two weeks I have noticed that huge stacked sizes will shift from bid to offer on many NYSE stocks. For example, CVX and other stocks on New York, there would be relatively huge sizes stacked (3 or 4, right after one another) on offer, then they all walk, and appear on the bid. They...

    Difficult day ?

I like to know this as well, they say august is one of the slowest month, be extra careful and decisive! ( but of course, no excuse for not making as much money as you can!)

    Daytrader Paradox

true, in scalping, patience is a double edge sword, if lean prints, you are gone, parties over, but there's a fine line between gotta go time and taking profits too early. If patience is part of the trading plan, of course adhere to it, but otherwise, it's definitely important to cut losses...

    Daytrader Paradox

right, dave, are you scalping the breakouts or position trading them?

    Daytrader Paradox

dave, I'm in the exact same position as you. Eventhough I may be green in the day, the commissions, ecn fees, and other fees such as software, etc.. really eats up the account slowly. It's true that green does make your confidence level higher, but we have to look at reality. I am looking at...

    offering, conversions, etc...

Say there's a market limit order that's aggressively stepping down on the offer and you have a conversion on the stock. You'd initally short some with the conversion, but after 2 price levels, you see it is a very good opportunity and you short again. Now..conversions, you are artifically long...

Just starting, how do you guys size up?

good points, and I guess the size you choose is varied upon setups as certain setups looks more promising than others so you'd probably put on more...

Just starting, how do you guys size up?

Well, I'm scalping and currently, I have just been trading 100 lots. For the past week, I've tired 200 lots and want to be consistent trading 200 lots because I want to have progress, but moving from 100 lots to 200 lots is not that big of a change but the numbers (profit/loss) is x2 so I'm...

Donating in anyway whether it is time, money, etc... is very good. Right now I am just starting to trade but I have seen people make money, and someday, I wish I can be at the level where I can donate to good causes. God bless you all who has made a kind gesture.

ah I see, I'll keep a note of that and will observe. Currently I am only looking at a couple of stocks as I am just a beginner and the spreads are usually standard a cent apart except in opennings where he unloads large buyer/seller orders.

actually I found ECN prices are a lot of times equal or just a penny below New York.

very true. Of course, it's a different story when one has conversions/bullets, but yes, when you offer, and tries to cancel, if the stock is really going down, he will let you cancel, but if it's going the other wait, he will hold your order and screw you over and fill you. As for the chase...
