    Gelding Wins Kentucky Derby

Why clone him specifically? Its not like he won cause he was the best horse. Yeah i agree lets clone the best thats out there.. which is certainly not this horse. Really hope the Derby has some guts and gives the roses a true winner. Without this illegal device, this horse would have been shit.

    Gelding Wins Kentucky Derby

Too bad the jockey cheated. No place for that type of play in the derby. He should.. and may still be dequalified.

    Capital gains tax cut

How would the new proposal of a 15% cap gains effect taxes on futures? Does that mean the new blend for taxes would be 60/40 with 60% at the 15% rate? That would be pretty huge for some traders. Not to make a political statement, but Bush seems to be ontrack for once.

Did the open orders cancel or not?

I agree Seth.. I realize that the minis went down, but there were plenty ways to hedge or even take advantage of the move. There are too many people bashing Globex. If people really had positions, it would have been relatively easy to hedge. Too many paper traders who are whiners.

    money equals happiness ???

The point is that he has the freedom to say his ideas reign supreme over anyones else. Yes money for the most part brings happiness. There will be a ton of people who disagree, but i would say most of them aren't in the superrich category.

    this guy takes the cake

he could easily be telling the truth also. there are toooooo many teachers who proclaim to make money, or actually even made a shitload of money but can't teach it properly. Who is to say he is worse than the other "coaches" that have been discussed on ET?

    the house's edge

Tradescape used to bring someone in to give backrubs ONLY if you traded over a mil shares for the month. They used to actually post it on a list in the office. I wonder if Etrade has the same casino policy.

    the house's edge

lets put it this way.. all they care about is the tickets. So if you can break even, you are making money for them. They want profitable traders cause they will be there forever for them and a cash cow. Not only in the money they bring in.. but b/c newbies will follow these successful traders...

    Tues AM Futures turnaround

whats the range as you see it?
  18. S

    Prop Futures

I think one of the problems is that prop firms can always recoup their initial capital if you just break even and write a ton of tickets. Futures obviously brings in much less net commish, and these firms have no way of recouping their cash if you lose it all. Or is this wrong thinking?

    most liquid market for futures?

With a large amt money (200mil+) would it be easier to double your money in eurodollars (scalping on a shorter term basis.. maybe on a weekly basis) or swing trading the SP 500 contracts (maybe on a month-month basis or longer since the liquidity would be less)
  20. S

    most liquid market for futures?

Well lets put it this way... if you have 200 mil, and you wanted to double it withing 12-18 months, what futures market would apply? Is the SP emin still the "obvious" choice? Or would you trade another liquid market? I am asking out of curiosity. I have about .000000000001% of that in my account.
