Europe is very nice, even better in the Eastern parts. Only takes an hour+ by plane for a nice beach destination and to be in a completely different country. I think if you like the European culture, Montreal is the next best thing (but no beaches). There's plenty of trading firms.

Nice, what markets are you guys trading what countries are you from? I trade NYSE/NASDAQ/CBOT. Have traded the EUREX in the past, but its too early trading for me.

I don't think everyone can apply to bank trading positions. Banks are very selective and always recruit from the top schools. Prop firm have their place in the markets. I have seen many good prop traders move to bank/hedge fund trading positions some of them just by using the trading knowledge...

A definite must for your trading PC is a Solid State Drive (SSD). I bough a small 80Gig on which I run Windows 7 and trading related software and the rest I run on a 1Gig regular hard drive.

You should post some daily results as you test your strategy.

Advice: I you're a good strategy developer you should have them completely automated. If you can't follow the rules your computer can. Just don't start trading your system (changing parameters when your not supposed to, entering/exiting trades manually). If your problem is money...

If you're a trader and you've made some money. Why not do a little research and find a strategy that can be programed. Read a few programming books, and work with some smart computer science kid to help you code it. You will both learn, you about programming and him about trading.

I have such a strategy. When backtesting and optimizing some of the best S/L parameters were around 10 pips in FX. The live results were very similar to the backtesting. It all depends what kind of strategy you have and when its trading.
