NQ... My Bias is still short

UPDATE: ok we are obviously at a key point on NQ,,, right at the high trend line... HMMM.. we break above and the market has turned? or this is rejected again and the sell off continues? I will trade whichever happens, we shall see

NQ... My Bias is still short

agree with you guys... just took a long off 6601 and made $$. I have such a slant towards the short side, I just trust short trades more and always have. This is definitely an error in my thinking that I want to work on. Eventually NQ goes long, it always does in the long term.

NQ... My Bias is still short

And that’s the part I gotta pay attention to. Week before last I had 26 short trades out of 29 trades. Last week was closer to 70% short trades. I gotta be careful I don’t get stuck in only looking for shorts.

NQ... My Bias is still short

I created this chart today... I like to look at a longer term picture over the weekends, even though I day trade off 5 minute chart. I have circled the Highs and Lows over the last 8 weeks,,, still looks like lower lows and lower highs... the red lines below are what I believe is support...

    Feels Weird to win ?

Okay,,,, I am having a very good run for the last 5 trading sessions. It is a nice change after struggling and failing and picking myself up over and over for more or less the last 14 months. Been trading now for over 6 years. Here's what... it feels weird? Like "chill out, this won't...

Runners Vs. Set Target to exit

Well. This is one of those things that there’s no clear answer. Yesterday not allowing for runner cost me additional profit. Today the fixed exit was the difference between loosing vs putting in a good profit. I can’t fully explain it. But I feel more under control and calmer by using a...

Runners Vs. Set Target to exit

UPDATE: trading for last few days with BOTH a stop loss and Limit exit at profit,,,, going with a 2:1 ratio,,,, it just FEELS so good to take a profit and be out of the trade. To me it seems like better/more efficient trading.

Runners Vs. Set Target to exit

That is a phenomenal idea. I can easily do that manually as I just drag and drop the stop on chart. Say using 4 point increments once it is over 10 points profit. I’m gonna look into my trading platform. Maybe there’s a percentage trailing stop function

    Sticking to the Plan...NOT!!!

So getting back to my original post. I get an A+ for today. My system gave zero entry signals so I mAde no trades. This is huge progress. Many mAny times in past I would say “close enough” and hit go. I don’t remember the last time I was live all session and took no trades. The thing is...

Runners Vs. Set Target to exit

I was using PSAR as my trailing stop... the break even was the stop utilizing PSAR (or close to it)... I have looked again at my stats and something just jumps out. My average "in the money" point per trade is 12 points (NQ that's $240), but a rather high percentage end up at break even...

Runners Vs. Set Target to exit

all great stuff... yes I would prefer to more often book a profit, then hold out for the bigger profit with a smaller chance of success. Just yesterday I had 3, yes 3 trades that all had 20point profits and ended with a 0 for me!

Runners Vs. Set Target to exit

yes, that is exactly how I feel. Banking lots of 7, 9, 11 point wins and forget about going for the 30's and 40's and more (I trade NQ futures) my trading software tells me all kinds of stats, including the "max profit" that a trade was at, it is amazing how many trades have a profit at some...

Runners Vs. Set Target to exit

old issue of mine... and I realize it is as much a mental thing as any. I have been TRYING to let me trades work and run. It just hurts to see trades go positive and then when done my trailing stop (I use PSAR) either gets me to break even or a small loss. I think for now I need to go back...
