    IB ActiveX

juggernaut, very useful information, thank you. echo33029, I found the documentation, thanks. Now I can get started. While I have extensive experience in MSVC++/MFC, I have none in ActiveX. I suspect that my sample files are crashing because I haven't somehow included the tws.ocx file...

    IB ActiveX

I was waiting for an IB ActiveX thread to spring up, but searching around a bit I found discussion on this in the very long thread "IB Improvements (Part 2)". I think this topic deserves a thread of its own. I down loaded the ActiveX files from IB, but I'm sorry to say that I'm a bit...

Netfutures best commissions for E-mini's ?!

virgin, So how much volume do you need to do? If you can't answer that , then, how much did you say you would do? Are they looking for a certain account size as well? As was told to me, they can no longer afford to offer $5.30 rt for people doing only one contract, 50 rt per month...

Netfutures best commissions for E-mini's ?!

I spoke today to netFutures and I was clearly told that they are increasing their commissions by $2~3. So, as far as I'm aware, they won't be offering any $5.30 rt commissions any longer. If someone can get this rate, please let us know. Richard

    Historical Quotes

dmacdonal9, Get TC2000. It can be exported selectively or en masse to a variety of different formats. Do you know of a way to access the quotes? For example, say I want to find the closing price of IBM on 2/1/91. I would like to do this from inside a C++ program. Richard

    Brokerage recommendations

Thanks all for your input. What I'm hoping to do is to trade way out-of-the-money credit put spreads on the S&P futures. The spread would be put on quarterly (i.e. three months to expiration) and the strike price of the short put would be about 15% OTM with the current S&P futures value...

    Directional Day Filter

Dave, Thanks for your help, anyway. For anyone who may be interested: Clayburg had a couple of articles in Active Trader: 1) Nov. 2001 issue: "Limiting Losses isn't always the answer" 2) Feb. 2002 issue: "Moving with the market: Adaptive Stop Orders" Both articles exam results of...

    Directional Day Filter

Come on guys, help me out here. See my message at top. I can email you the *.els file if you like. Will post when I no longer need any help. (Some incentive to help: I'm working on a S&P futures day trading system, I'll let you know my system when I'm done).

m_c_a98, What brokerage are you with? I just spoke with someone at Global Futures who told me that there was no extra charge for use of J-Trader, at least with them. Richard

    Brokerage recommendations

I'm thinking of moving my IRA to a brokerage that permits me to trade options on futures, mostly S&P futures options. Can anyone recommend a good brokerage? Foremost on my mind is low commissions. Thanks, Richard

    Directional Day Filter

big_jdez, Thanks for your reply. I have Clayburg's book, so I know exactly in concept how the DDF operates. However, I'm interested to see how he mathematically figures out where most of the market action is in the first hour, especially in the cases when it's not so clear. Also, I would...

    Directional Day Filter

Dr. Clayburg, a noted systems designer, has a technique for determining market trend of the day based off of the first hour price action. It's over 70% accurate. He calls it the Directional Day Filter and he freely provides Tradestation (EasyLanguage) code for it. It's available at...

    TCI Corp. Trading system

I may subscribe for a month ... Tony, Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, for you to subscribe for a month you need to: 1) Attend a two day course for which you will be charged $6,000, 2) You then can lease the system for $250/month. This is certainly a high hurdle...

    Excel problem

OK Robert, I'm still a little peeved that you didn't answer my question sometime back about what speed reading course you would recommend? You did take a speed reading course didn't you? May be you didn't see my question. Anyway, the solution you're after: Go to Tools -> Autocorrect...
