Anyone, Was that a valid signal this morning? I'm not sure if divergences appearing across day boundaries are OK or not. Nice trade 'though. Richard

no_PM, I agree with all my colleagues above, there's no need to post your account statement. However, I'm certainly keen on knowing what prices you were able to get in and out of trades (which you have been providing all along). This is mainly to compare with my own simulated trading...

Using qcharts the low of the 10:50 bar was 973.2 and the 11:00 bar was 973.1 . Interestingly, the low of the Chaikin oscilator was made (as per my Wealth-Lab set up) at 10:45 and not 10:50. Richard

no_PM, If I understand this correctly, you're looking for price to make a new high (in this case) AFTER ADX gets above 30. That is, you require that the divergence needs to be completed after ADX gets above 30. (For what it's worth, both the 6 and 14 period CCI (as Woodie uses) were showing...

MarkB, I came across different versions of divergence functions written in TS. Let me know if you would like me to email it to you. Richard

MarkB, I'd be interested in backtesting this method in Wealth-Lab but I don't have any code that automatically detects divergence. If it's possible, would you mind emailing me your TS code (in plain text format). I could then translate it into WL for use with the Chailkin oscillator and then...

I'd thought I'd also post a graphic of the SP so that it could be compared with the earlier ES graphic. Slight differences do appear. Divergence seems to be more prominent in SP. Richard

no_pm's journal is a paragon of excellence in its clarity. Also he's been very generous to share a trading method he has devised. A godsend for those of us who have been searching for a method of "their own". no_pm, I've got my WL set-up running. Below I've included a graphic of today's...

This is the so called Holly Grail trade. I've looked over the recent sp price history and it appears to me that no_pm is having more success with his method than the grail trade. Richard

    ! ! ! Urgent Help Need ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

OK, since you need an answer so urgently, I'll give it a try. The Black-Scholes option pricing model relies on both the price of the stock and its volatility. The volatility is expressed in terms of the standard deviation of returns. Check out the following for more information...

no_pm_please, 1) I'm trying to get Wealth-Lab set up with your indicators. The way I understand your set-up is that you have a "Keltner Channel with 20 period and 2.5 ATR's (average true range) based on the close". For me to reproduce this I will need to use a 20 ma based on the closes alone...

no_pm_please, You've set a new standard in journaling. Very nice work. I have a few questions: 1) Raschke uses a 20 period EMA for her Holy Grail trade setup, are you also using EMA ? or SMA? 2) When you look for divergences, what is the maximum and minimum number of bars you...

    30-Min High & Low Breakouts/Breakdowns

Palward, Thanks for a very informative post. I have a couple of questions: 1) How would you charaterize your point 5 above in more objective terms. I'm thinking I might backtest this to see how it performs. 2) Have you any experience on using this system on the ES or NQ index futures...

    Why trade at all?

Example: Bracket your text by [ color = Red ] and [ / color ] (but don't use any spaces). This is red For more detail check out: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/misc.php?s=&action=bbcode

    Seattle Traders!!

condorll, I have a great interest in developing mechanical trading systems. I use Wealth-Lab for this. Would love to get together with others of a similar ilk. However, I'm in Portland, OR (and don't own a car). Where are you located? Richard

    Sirius Satelite Radio

Jon Markman seems to like it (if that means anything): http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/P48071.asp Certainly there's no liquidity problems with SIRI. Many days it trades more shares than QQQ. Richard

Today and last Firday's ES action

dbphoenix, Thanks for your input but I still have a problem with this. However if we can go into further detail I think I can resolve it. I see the low and high of the 950 bar (where I assume, the time of the bar is in reference to its starting time as in QCharts) were 992.75 and 994.75 on...

Today and last Firday's ES action

dbphoenix, I'm still trying to figure out my strategy. It's certainly not clear to me which side to have been on before the report, which as far as I can see, is what was needed "to catch the bulk of the move down". Looking at a 1 min chart I see that the bulk of the move was in one 7 point...

    IB is getting serious...

IB's no longer the least expensive broker on the block. TrackTrade recently aggressively lowered their commission rates. http://www.tracktrade.com Given IB's history of customer support, I suspect there will be more people leaving (voluntarily). However, in all fairness they're probably still...
