    Patenting a Superior Trading System

I'm a risk taker with a superior mind. I gun it when the situation warrants it.

    Patenting a Superior Trading System

Shouldn't be all that surprising. It is LONELY at the top. I'm beginning to understand what it all means now.

    Patenting a Superior Trading System

$50 is still a lot of money for me. No lie. I also have millions in debt. My money management firm is easily worth millions, and minus the millions in debt, my net worth is in the couple of millions range. For someone still in their 20s, that would easily put me in the top 0.000001% of...

    Patenting a Superior Trading System

Yeah.. I understand where you are getting at. But, I never wanted to reveal the inner workings of the system to anyone. I just wanted to trademark the name for marketing purposes.

How old is that thread, like 20 years ago ??

    Patenting a Superior Trading System

My returns speak for themselves. But the smart money wants bells and whistles along with great returns. Looks like I will be trademarking the name instead of filing a patent. I didn't really know the difference between both, and I'm sure most Hedge Fund managers out there wouldn't know...

    Patenting a Superior Trading System

It is not really a trading system. It is an EQUATION that quantifies the risk/return profile a lot better than other Nobel Prize winning formulas that are out there. Of course it can help you with your trading, but it is of value only in the right hands who knows what to do with it.

I don't know what you're trying to imply Bob, but my Fund is up 50%+ year to date.

    Patenting a Superior Trading System

The name isn't exactly Spectacular Proprietary Trading System (SPTS); but the system/name is pretty spectacular if you ask me.

Unexpected LOSSES I lost quite a substantial amount of money today in a private investment transaction. The lose was bad, and I haven't been a good steward of the money my investors have entrusted me with. Being a money manager, I just don't feel good. I feel humiliated, I feel the shame...

    Patenting a Superior Trading System

I have developed a Spectacular Proprietary Trading System (SPTS) that quantifies the classic economic risk/return profile with a higher degree of certainty and if I make this information public, it is a sure Nobel Prize in Economics. But, I want to keep it as private information and use it as...

The lonely game -VS- My own company

I take concentrated and sizeable positions, and the research analysts bring me the best whys and why nots and I make the decision as to when to buy and when to sell, based on my own metrics. And my positions are held for the longer term as well, definitely not day trading and thus have more...

The lonely game -VS- My own company

Even though my employees sign various nondisclosure agreements, I would never let them know of my exact strategies. I have my research functions separated into batch processes, and the rest are administrative and support functions that are handled in house. My strategies would never be...

The lonely game -VS- My own company

I've never worked at the proprietary desk at Goldman, thus I don't know how exactly they handle it with their trading operations. But, with any business task, you should break it down into the most fundamental tasks, the most fundamental processes. You could do that relatively easy. Break...

The lonely game -VS- My own company

I started off with a Hedge Fund, which right now is slowly evolving into an International Investment Banking operation. And I have just about 25 employees + growing in three continents. I really see your problem. At first at my company, there was no real separation between me and the staff...

The lonely game -VS- My own company

Administrative assistants, accountants, researchers etc. If you choose to go with someone, you should do good research and only go with the best. Someone that can be an asset to you, and would do whatever you want for them to do for you. And never settle. One guy I hired called me a...

    Trading Vs. Value Investing

I have started off as a trader. After I have mastered trading and became successful at it, I started a Hedge Fund and nowadays, I cannot get in and out of a position like I used to be. Thus, my positions tend to be much longer in duration. I tend to hold onto positions on average a year or...

This is the only thing I think about. This is the same thing that makes me stay very late in my office and makes me jump out of bed every morning. I'm trying to do something so complex, something so out of this world, yet, it very simple to actually do.. That's the crazy thing. It is...

To DREAM Everything in life begins with a dream. A simple, innocent, something not so foreboding, something innocuous. You must dream great dreams. You must dream proudly, and boldly. But, dreaming is just not enough though, there is a second part to the equation. We'll save that...

    The economics of Islamic banking

Islamic banking was non existent not too long ago. Of course, it will grow when it starts out from nothing, but it won't be going very far. It just don't have the fundamentals to stand on.
