    Real-Time Trading Simulator?

Thinkorswim has two options for this: Live paper trading for demo accounts, and an "OnDemand" feature if you opened an account with them. "OnDemand" is awesome... they record all trade data on a tick level, including level 2s and TaS, for the last 6+ months and can replay it for you in your...

    multi pc question

Depending on your setup.. data feeds can be very minimal: Example: TOS with 5 instruments up with level 2, TaS, and 1min charts.. set to real time data mode, all only consumed around 160Mb for a trade session worth of data. Or very heavy.. some platforms do some funky stuff with their...

so how are all the pros at the prop desks doing?

Rather good this month... the buy/sell imbalance trade at the end of day plus opening reversal trades have been treating me well.

    TOS Changes Clearing Firm

Clearing is different from custodial services... they aren't holding onto your assets, they are simply processing and clearing all transactions.

I am a new trader, I want to start trading

If you haven't started trading yet, you're not a new trader... but an aspiring trader. I wouldn't even call most people with under 2-3 years of experience traders, most of the time they're still learning the ropes. Consider yourself a 'market trainee' until you're consistently profitable...

If you have to ask this late in the game, any 'edge' to such a major news event is already gone.

Any traders located in Montreal, Canada?

Hey Dave, Just wanted to point out that FXCM doesn't trade futures. Instead, they offer CFDs when it comes to their "futures" products. This means they are the market maker, and control the product entirely in house. There are some advantages to this, but not many (greater leverage in...

Not sure if there's an Orbixa office near you, but they trade Eurex, Canada, Hong Kong, London, and I believe Tokyo.

Anyone with Lightspeed as a broker?

Anyone with Lightspeed as a broker? Apparently they don't take Canadian clients due to regulations.. but that problem aside I was hoping to hear people's experiences with them as a substitute to a prop firm. Before stumbling upon their site, I was looking at InteractiveBrokers as a retail...

    Best of all worlds?

No coating.. it's an LED backlit glossy screen. Check on Apple's website under the 'tech specs' of the MBAs.. That's not saying it's a bad screen. Clearly you seem to be happy with it and when I had a chance to play with one for a few hours I wasn't too bothered by the screen myself.
