The issue I have is with certain newer tickers if you have a daily chart zoomed out...say looking at 1-2 years of Boeing for instance...then you switch to a newer stock with less history like PLTR...The daily chart will simply refuse to load...Will say no historical market data and error out...

You're right...quick googling says NYSE stopped supporting stop orders in 2015. I didn't know that policy changed.

But stop orders sit on the exchange no? You're telling me the exchanges themselves arent able to handle this correctly? Or is there some part of this thats still on IBs side?

How is it even possible For the Last not to be "within" (and they also mean equal to) the bid/ask if the stock traded there? You can see on the chart it go up to and above the stop price. I'm not even sure what this description is really trying to say.

Irregular crazy price action is not what happened here...And a market order shouldn't take a minute plus to process even if that was the case. There is no reason a stop limit would execute faster than a normal stop order.

They are essentially the same...But again...Thats not the point I'm trying to get solved here. Trying to figure out why the order didn't trigger. Stop orders are preferred as they are actually orders that sit on the exchange...MIT orders are held on the brokers servers I believe.

Its not about fills...I'm not complaining about the fill price on my stop. I'm talking about the stop not getting triggered when the LAST price traded above the stop price. Soon as the price taps the stop price it should immediately trigger and execute a market order

Trigger method is set to default. And isn't the default with stop orders submitted to exchanges for equities the LAST price?

Obviously with IB since this is posted in the IB forum and I said IB in my post. I dont remember the ticker since I took the screen grab last week. But its a well known stock and using IB's smart routing.

Pre-Borrow is still reserved for portfolio margin customers. And portfolio margin isn't available to Canadian customers (even trading US equities). So Someone like me simply doesn't have access to the pre-borrow functionality. And I got a flat "NO" when asking about any locate functionality when...

The point everyone is missing is that IB only offers short locates to Portfolio Margin customers. EDIT: Actually...I only see IB refer to it as pre-borrowing...I dont actually see them say locates anywhere...They may not do locates at all.
