Housing is expensive yes, but you have to admit Toronto is a great place to find a job and or run a business. Its a massive market place here. If you want to say screw lifestyle factors and just put your nose to the grind stone then Toronto is a fantastic place to do this.

Have you been to the beaches area? It basically feels like you are in rural British Columbia in terms of demographics. Over all the city is very diverse no doubt, but really really choice area's to live are mostly Caucasian. It is what it is.

The really nice area's in Toronto are not very multi cultural... In the suburbs sure but in the 416 not so much.

Some might call that averaging down...
