My Firefox is prompting me to upgrade Java to Version 6 Update 2. Would that affect my TWS ?

IB website recommends Java 2 or 1.5. however on http://www.java.com , the current iteration is version 6 update 2. how do I get Java 2 ?!?!

do you find your computers are noisy? I have 3 fans all together in my boxs, they give a low level background noisy. I did not notice it at first, but is starting to bother my ears now. how do you keep your noise down?
