    Tell about your education

I have had a number of experiences with supposed "big firm traders". Market makers from NITE, FLTT, and a few other smaller criminal institutions. The one thing each had in common was the ability to blow up their trading account in an astonishingly fast period of time. (Two guys never even made...

    discredit is due

I get dizzy trying to read the post with that rabbit flying around. ( Yes, I was the guy who used to throw up getting off the amusement park rides.....)

    Tell about your education

This is my fourth year in the business. The best traders that I know all went to average colleges, had less than average G.P.A.'s, and started out in the financial business either cold calling or were brought in to daytrade by friends in the industry.

    Self Clearing Firms

Thank you for the numbers. I can only assume that if an average trader is doing 1 to 1.4 million a month and paying .75, then someone doing over 10 million a month would be drastically less...am I correct??? If so, is there a number you could throw out for 10 mil+ per month?

"It doesn't matter whether you get the commission down to zero, the question is whether you can make money trading." I agree completely. My question about commission prices are to find the way to keep the largest % of what I take out of the market.

http://frankvan.00cash.com . Is this possible? any one have tried it?

I just went to the site to check it out. If this guy was making so much money, why would he bother selling his "almost 100 percent" trading system on the net for a paltry $199 per month? It's the same scam as all the betting hotlines with "an 85% win/loss record."

    Self Clearing Firms

I posted this over the weekend, so I doubt you had a chance to read it...here it is again. 04-20-02 09:12 PM DON... Some of the numbers being thrown around on this thread have gotten me very curious. Please answer a few questions for me. 1) What is the average monthly volume for a very...

"... I don't understand some traders .. it is like if you are not making 20K a month you aren't making enough .. bullshit... I will take many increments between that figure.. there is money to be made but I am also aware of the difficulty that lies within consistency." Someone's monthly...

    Self Clearing Firms

E*TRADE likes them because they apparently have no idea about how their ECN does so much volume. I don't know if you trade Nasdaq or not, but if you do then you're familiar with LSPD coming to the bid and offer on high volume/super liquid stocks. They get SOESed on one side for a block (usually...

    Self Clearing Firms

I couldn't remember the name of that piker shop. Yes, MOST of you Tradescape "traders" are an absolute joke. Keep trading WCOM and JDSU on LSPD for your one cent spread and volume rebate. Good luck getting your money when the SEC shuts down that sh**hole "firm".

I just took a random guess that you used to work for the firm that owns LSPD (I can't remember their name right now)

    Self Clearing Firms

Some of the numbers being thrown around on this thread have gotten me very curious. Please answer a few questions for me. 1) What is the average monthly volume for a very big trader at your firm? ( By big I mean in volume #'s not $). 2) What would a guy like this be paying per share and for...

john ogg - news trading service

He reads Bloomberg and a few other services. The only problem with his service is when the newswire gets very active, he obviously can't read out every story as it hits the screen. (Especially after hours earnings news).

    Self Clearing Firms

why don't you just admit that you "missed the boat" by not going self clearing? How can you even make an argument that your firm is better off paying (roughly) $2.00-3.00 to clear a trade instead of clearing it yourself for $.25-35 cents?

but pretty expensive. If you trade by yourself you're better off ordering a Bloomberg terminal.

What is a trader career like?

Thank you for your reply. The issue has absolutely nothing to do with Hitman, I just used him as an example. I was really just curious to see if I would be removed for posting the same sort of response.
