    Is this a viable system?

The biggest concern I have is with the number of trades. If it is an intraday system - and I think it is not - then it is not acceptable, way too low significance. If it is a position system then it is possibly not statistically significant. I do not think it is a trend following system because...

    Back testing futures

You still don't get it. It is even misleading advice most of the times. Trading futures is zero-sum. Why should anyone who really knows the stuff open your eyes and then end up loosing to you? Yeah, you will learn how to backtest futures systems but it may take you up to 5 - 10 years and it...

    What's your Trading System??

+1, but hey, the world if full of idiots who want to do it with your young girllfriend. Don't you get that feeling in restaurants or bars? Don't you spot some idiots who are looking at her like hungry animals. Even worse, when they start a conversation with you just to get to her and find out...

Attention Metastock users - Legal options

I had no idea until recently. Did you know? If you knew, can you show a post of yours in a trading forum where you alerted Metastock users about the defects? Based on legal advice I have received, traders can take this company to the courts, recover the cost of the software and depending on...

Average daily profit with $50K account?

Great post. Trading is simple. I am arguing for fun with some geeks in another thread who are in love with backtesting and programming systems. Trading is the simplest thing in life. It is so simple that any attempt to make it complicated will result in failure.

what else in Amibroker shall I pay attention if I want to backtest futures?

This shows you have not done any serious backtesting work. Speak only for yourself. You have no idea what backtesting is anyway. You guessed right. I am a trader. By the way, do you have a vested interest in Amibroker? I find that program extremely hard to use. Unlike other programs...

what else in Amibroker shall I pay attention if I want to backtest futures?

TS is easy to learn. I once tried AB and I gave up. Maybe it is a good program but not for a trader, maybe for programmers. The same goes for Ninja and all other programs based on c#. Something else: I do not think that any serious trading software designer should include a function for...

    MetaTrader BackTesting, Reliable or Not??

You should rather ask whether the data is reliable.

How do I backtest an idea?

If you are talking about US stocks you can do that easily and cheap using a product from Worden (worden.com) and if you do not like the results you cancel the subscription. Their program has the data with splits accounted for.

Loading Tradestation 2000 onto Windows 7

Do you also drive a 12 year old car? I think this is how old TS2000 is.:) The TS2000 problems, if confirmed, are in the backtester. If you are not using the backtester it should be fine.

Loading Tradestation 2000 onto Windows 7

I don't understand you. Why would anyone want to use such an old and crappy program with a new OS? That TS2000 program has probably screwed many traders with its wrong backtesting reports and I am certain it is one of the two programs involved in the study below...

Any experience with the p-indicator for short term trading? Do you know where I can find more information about it besides the paper in the author's website? I tried contacting them but they never replied to my emails.
