    Taxes at IB

In one of my IB accounts, I traded only stocks with no short over-the-year positions. 1099's sales proceeds and IB generated schedule D-1's total sales still did not match.

    Does anyone use Fidelity

If your are with Fidelity through your company's 401k, it usually does not provide the platform with all the features. It will be better if you find out those features by contacting them directly with the special contact information that you were provided with through your company's 401k.

    Daytrader at Etrade

irniger, if you were flagged as PDT and your account were <$25k, you still would have been able to close out your positions--longs and shorts. Even if you are allowed to trade again next week, thoroughly find out from Etrade why you were not allowed to place a trade. Then, consider moving...

    Daytrader at Etrade

irniger, ask Etrade if you have violated in PDT rules, day trading calls, Reg-T, etc. Then, seriously think of moving your money to a better broker soon. For example, IB does automated margin liquidation if needed so that you do not have these type of calls and get stuck. This automated...

congrads to ib they provide sch d this year

clearpicks, if you provide IB suggestions, they may implement it for 2007. Ameritrade gives you choice to do "Wash Sale Adjustment" or "Base Price Adjustment". Kudos to IB to at least make an effort in providing a Schedule D-1 type format gain/loss.

    TradeKing

Sorry to say that for both options and stocks, TradeKing's services/execution has been only sub par even if you campare it against deep discount brokers. It is getting uglier.

    IB vs TD

tentenequals20, Are you saying that you can use StrategyDesk generated orders for the same Ameritrade account in which you pay $5/trade commissions? Does that same Ameritrade account in which you pay $5/trade commissions also let you have Level-II, GainsKeeper, etc. for free?

    Ameritrade Trailing Stop?

Earlier, I heard from Ameritrade's CSR that they had trade trigger for options --but not trailing stops. How do you place trailing stop order options at Ameritrade? Is it directly available in the Trade menu?

Court Rules: Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% Comm. Fee

TraderManiac, you mentioned that you left on "good terms". Does it mean that the broker finally waived some/all of those commissions ticket charges for a conditional gag order? If that is the case, I would consider the broker to be very lucky.

    Ameritrade question on "Trade Triggers"

I was once told that if I submitted my orders at least 2-3 minutes before the market opens, it would participate in the open. FOK specification was available at Ameritrade. Izone stated offering TradeTrigger since last October. Not sure if it still would be better than just2trade or not.

    Who uses Zecco.com

aeliodon, Zecco's web site says they do pay. Besides, there are other avenues for the people to earn money rather than just sit on cash for interests in a trading account.

    Who uses Zecco.com

NoWorries, Do you mean Zecco offers Market-At-Open order type? What type of equity orders do they offer? How is their financial transaction? I heard they withhold taxes on sale orders for some people unless you submit W-9 or so long in advance. Do they withhold taxes for you?

    Who uses Zecco.com

AB, Do you (or somebody you personally know who) use Zecco Trading? According to Zecco, 40 free trades per month is for both <$25k and >=$25k accounts.

Get around Potential Pattern Day Trade at IB?

Relleum, I did not say you can never have a 4th position with IB. IB does not claim that its system will prevent you to have that position in all type of scenarios. I have mentioned that IB "tries to" prevent you from having the "new 4th" position. Until you bring your account to $25k or...

Get around Potential Pattern Day Trade at IB?

Almost all other brokers will let you hold your whole 4th position over night with proper margin since it is clearly allowed by the rules. I guess IB tries to force you to avoid potential PDT by not letting you open the new 4th position if you have already done 3 day trades in a rolling 5...

Why does Success Trade Securities need to make many

It seems one (i.e. Successtrade) is offering per-share pricing the other two (Lowtrades, Just2trade) are offerings per-trade pricing. Just2trade is for the experienced customers; Lowtrades is for all type of customers. Lowtrades offers a toll-free number for the customer services; Just2trade...

    Short Selling Help

My experience in shorting stock with IB was not that great--but not bad either. Sometimes I was able to short a stock with Ameritrade which I could not do with IB. (In some other rare occasions, the vice versa was true.) TradeKing is miserable. I have heard Cybertrader can update their short...

Just2trade's structures looks like LowTrades/bptrades/Successtrades'. Search for Success Trades to get more information. According to the web-site, they are offering Bracket orders, trailing stops, API, etc. that Sogoinvest or Zecco does not even plan to offer. Their margin rates seem to be...
