Limit-down risks are worth bearing in mind when trading bitcoin futures. If bitcoin futures goes limit-down for 3 consecutive days, the traders are going to lose sleep for 3 days. You can't get out even if you want to. You can't sleep even if you want to.

Hence, I advise IBKR customers to avoid using margin on options. ALL the lawsuits against IBKR that involve autoliquidation are related to options. There is always the possibility of bugs in the autoliquidation software. I guess the risk is higher for options.

I like IBKR autoliquidator. It is like a free risk manager provided by the broker for retail investors who use leverage. Good for them, good for us (at least most of the time).
