Guidelines on position sizing for adding to existing stock position

Dear elitetraders, I've been pondering over this question for some time. Please give me your experienced feedback. Suppose I want to establish a position in Apple stock. X amount is full position to put into Apple. I prefer to add to winning positions. Assume Apple is on the way up and I have...

Difference between IB services/fees for retail and hedge funds

Based on my personal experience as a consumer, when prices are not made public and kept like secrets, they are usually expensive. If price is a selling point, they will be publicised and displayed loudly. Based on this observation, I'm sure the big names charge much more than IB.

Difference between IB services/fees for retail and hedge funds

Thanks. Sounds good for me as a retail investor. I wonder why would hedge funds want to use Interactive Brokers as their broker instead of big names like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, given that these hedge funds are treated like cheap small fry retail investors like me. Why not get royal...

Difference between IB services/fees for retail and hedge funds

I stumbled onto this page about IB services for hedge funds. https://www.interactivebrokers.com/hmf/en/main.php What is the difference between the commission fees and services offered between retail investors and hedge funds? Do hedge funds enjoy much cheaper commission fees than retail investors?

OMG ! An actual 'thank you' note from IB.

Thank you is not enough. Did IB give you discount on your commissions going forward? If no discount, any extra service? That is what matters:) Do you mind sharing approximately how much commission you paid to IB to receive a thank you note?

Bill Gross, Onetime Bond King, Retiring After Messy Last Act

I read comments that he made money as Bond King because he happened to be in the one of the longest bull market in bonds history. When interest rates start rising, he lost his magic. NOt sure if these are fair comments as I am not much into bonds. What puzzles me with his under-performance is...

Billionaire Ken Griffin Buys America’s Most Expensive Home for $238 Million

Money can't guarantee happiness but it sure can eliminate many sources of unhappiness. I used to say that too "Money can't buy happiness" but realised later that was my excuse and consolation for not being able to make lots of money. Loser mentality.

    RIP John Bogle

John Bogle and Thomas Peterffy are giants who created lots of value in the financial industry. Can't say the same for active money managers who lost to cheaper and better index funds.

    Opinions on Interactive Brokers?

No such problem on real platform. Execution on IB is superior compared to other brokers like E-trade.

Best financial advice I heard regarding trading courses

Even more ridiculous is the claim made by these financial trainers that they want to give back to society after becoming rich. They claim they want to help other people escape the drudgery of work and make the world a better place through their courses. How can they do that by getting rich at...

Best financial advice I heard regarding trading courses

Bear this in mind before attending 2 to 3 days trading/investing courses that cost thousands of dollars. Even the most expensive Ivy League college degrees don't cost that much when measured on an hourly basis.
