Any good reason to use index CFDs given the emergence of E-micros? Are index CFDs obsolete?

In the past, index CFDs have an advantage over E-mini futures because CFDs allow smaller position size. With the emergence of E-micros thanks to CME, this advantage has disappeared. E-micros are cheaper in commission too. Are there any good reasons left to use index CFDs for trading U.S equity...

    Models Get Sued

All funds that I come across have the disclaimer "investment carries risk. We cannot guarantee profits and losses are possible". Therefore, no funds can be sued for losing money because all of them warn about losing money before clients sign up.

Point 72 - Steve Cohen Performance

It's not only the poor performance. His past great performance generated by his ex-company SAC used an illegal edge called insider trading. How can investors of Point72 expect similar performance, given that the past edge was illegal? Furthermore, I doubt his new firm will be able to attract...

Thanks to President Trump, these quant hedge funds bet on low volatility just when high volatility is about to strike back. You've been Trumped!!

Quant funds in trouble this time. Any insights into what went wrong?

It is inexplicable. Can't think of a good reason why this is happening despite the amount of brains and resources thrown into this problem.

Quant funds in trouble this time. Any insights into what went wrong?

Hedge funds under-performing is only a recent phenomenon. Hedge funds out-performed during the bear market from 2000-2002. They under-performed in the bull market that started in 2009. Furthermore, since hedge fund managers are paid so well, they should out-perform. Otherwise, it will seem like...

Quant funds in trouble this time. Any insights into what went wrong?

First, we hear about trend-followers doing badly. Then, value investors. Now, the nerdy quants. All these happening in one of the longest bull markets in U.S history. As a retail investor, I look up to these hedge fund managers and like to read books and watch videos about them. I sincerely...

How do you use time-stops when trading stocks?

That's a time-stop, from the great speculator himself, Jesse Livermore!

How do you use time-stops when trading stocks?

What you said makes sense. What Handle123 said also makes sense. Both are contradictory but hard to argue one is right and the other is wrong. Time is also money. I can argue that traders don't jump ship with the intention to drown. They jump ship with the intention of hopping onto a faster...

How do you use time-stops when trading stocks?

Thanks. So, is the index doesn't move up fast enough, you cut even if the index has moved up. Interesting. Wouldn't you end up cutting a lot of trades which happen to stop moving for a while, then suddenly move up a lot?

How do you use time-stops when trading stocks?

Time-stops mean if the stock doesn't move up upon purchase after some time, you exit. Very few people practise it. The stock is exited even if it is profitable. The trader doesn't let the stock run because it is not running up and standing still. In fact, almost all books that I read don't...

A Chinese Firm Cost Interactive Brokers Millions

Why is IB's stock commissions not competitive? Only free RobinHood is cheaper but RobinHood is known to have poorer price execution. TOS stock commission is flat fee at USD6.95. This is competitive only when you are penny stock trader which most of us aren't. IB is still the most competitive for...

There's a difference in price TA between equities and commodity futures. Equities have finite volume while futures contracts do not have finite limit to the volume. No limit to how many contracts can be opened. I think that should interpret volume interpretation.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like casinos barring profitable card counters from entering. Are you using Price TA on ETFs since ETFs are similar to mutual funds? I guess individual stocks are too different from mutual funds and may not be suitable for your style as a transition target. Nobody...
