indicators are useful, but they can't distinguish danger in price, for example if you have a 24 point bar versus a 3 point bar indicators won't tell you that the 24 point bar obviously is much more volatile and dangerous to trade..

I don't think you should look at the drop of the DOW of 2001-2003, but at the drop of the NASDAQ. After all it was a tech bubble. The credit bubble however, has more to do with the DOW now. So expect the DOW to do what the NASDAQ did back then.

first off there was a triangle pattern with higher lows and lower highs and it was about to breakout, you were just unlucky it didnt breakdown and second off, nobody knows when to take profits you just take profits at a support or resistance or reversal candles etc you just take off contracts...

well i would say.. get a f/t account of $10k.. lose the 10k, stop with trading. If you dont stop with trading after losing it, you probably dont have the discipline, since you made this rule and then didnt follow it. Because of this rule you will also probably be more disciplined with the money...

normally real market data can pay alot of respect to price pivots, i see here everytime you draw a horizontal line there is no second time it bounces exactly of that line, no price memory.
