    Why is deflation more common?

But you're missing my point - Is it really GDP growth if it's priced in a currency that is deflated? GDP can grow 2%, what if the currency deflates 2%? Wouldn't that set it back to zero % growth but there really is growth?

    Why is deflation more common?

That is confusing because 0 GDP means no growth or does it mean it grew but it's priced in a currency that deflated?

    Why is deflation more common?

We've all seen the effects of hyper inflation, it's insane when things get out of hand. But I notice most countries (US included) are in a constant fight with deflation. I know deflation causes less spending due to asset prices dropping, but why is it a common thing in first world countries...

Do companies have their asset valuations in the SEC filings?

For example if a company claims they have 3 billion dollars in assets on their balance sheet. Is there breakdown of each asset in their filings? Or it's standard for them to just group it all. For example you can own a piece of real estate that's valued at 3 billion dollars and no cash...

    is Brexit still happening?

Off topic, but do you know why George Soros is flip flopping on the EU? He was initially against it but now he's doing everything he can to keep Brexit from happening

    is Brexit still happening?

Umm I'm not sure what you mean by "US" because i don't know if you're from UK or US. But Trump isn't the one who's a laughing stock if you follow US news. Let me get this straight - THERE IS NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT HIS TARIFFS!!! Ok.. now that it's out of the way, the opposing party is the one...

    is Brexit still happening?

So bascially you're saying people don't know what they voted for and they put an impossible deal up for a vote 3 years ago because they didn't think they'd lose. That's like me betting more than i have in poker and saying it's the winner's fault for betting against me in the first place.

    is Brexit still happening?

So what's the point in having a vote in the first place if they won't deliver on the terms of theirs defeat? Now it raises another problem. Your vote means nothing. If the US followed these rules they would still be deciding who'll be president! Enough people liked Hillary right? Total bs.

    is Brexit still happening?

I thought the deadline was March 31st. Now they say the Oct 31st deadline will no longer be met? Is the new PM even on the side of the leavers? Do they think if they delay this enough, they can stop it from happening or have another vote? nigel farage's party won by a landslide so don' they...

Jack Ma steps down as chair of BABA

I've read he's "part" of the CCP, though I hardly doubt it. I saw a video where a Chinese billionaire (forgot his name) says he's in trouble because the CCP is after him... So now he steps down as chair of BABA, and I'm not convinced it was by choice... Anyone got an article or story...

What the hell is going on in the bond market?

Does anyone speculate that the bonds are going up because money is flowing out of China and HK? How much do you think China is causing bond prices to rise?

What the hell is going on in the bond market?

Will this do? You talking about 2014 and up? Trump looking for allies against China right? If we devalue our currencies together ( japan's already there.. ) it'll hurt their export business...

What the hell is going on in the bond market?

Wait, why? Why's the trend to cut-rates all of a sudden? Last year fed was rising rates and pretty dedicated about it.

What the hell is going on in the bond market?

The 1 month yield is higher than 30 years??!! What?!? Source: https://home.treasury.gov/ I did notice the volume of the 30 year is high but the front months are low... Whoever is pumping up bond prices are only interested in the later months... Also as a side question, how much money does...

American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China,

I'm sure he's just saying that because everyone is against him. If you're long the market you're long Trump. He absolutely needs to keep the market propped to win re-election. Unlike Obama, nobody likes him, but he can deliver. If the market tanks, the only way he'll win is if the democratic...

    Anyone see a Q4 2018 Repeat?

Haven't you heard everything you buy clears through 2 firms? CME and ICE? And before they hit those 2 only a handful of banks get your orders and they get it from bigger brokers who don't even face retail? Not saying they are doing this, but you know, if you're on the "inside" you'll know...

    Anyone see a Q4 2018 Repeat?

The Dec big drop was due to the final selling, you know how markets are, before a rally it always wants to "set a record" and clean out all the weaklings. Dec 24th was one of the last days before the 1000 point rally and it had enormous volume and no news. No news needed for single day drops...

    Anyone see a Q4 2018 Repeat?

It started sharply dropping in Oct 2018, if you look at the late Sept, the market was running out of steam - but who remembers these things right?

    Anyone see a Q4 2018 Repeat?

It's funny how much short term memory the stock market has. We had one of the sharpest drops last year with no signs of bad economic data and I rarely hear anyone talk about it anymore. It's been a year, is it With that being said, volume is up, market is sharply declining and the shape of...

What is the differnece between Open Interest and Volume?

Thanks for this. Suppose you wanna use IO histories to get an idea of where the options traders are pushing the underlying, I would need historical IO for one option, which could be rare to find this info online?
