Lenders’ actions show they think properties are not worth pursuing.

and how about because some of the properties are so dilapidated, that there's no feasible worth to foreclose on them without taking a serious bath? Then you just let it sit there and maybe the city/town will eventually seize it instead...

Making 1/2 as Much: Pay cuts more frequent than at any time since Great Depression.

I can't comment on this guy's overall schedule, but if the RIP and possible hours(?) or the more flexibility of being at home gives him some more free time, why not try and pick up some odd jobs that could make a bit of extra cash? Won't replace the loss probably unless he learns a new skill...

Making 1/2 as Much: Pay cuts more frequent than at any time since Great Depression.

^^^interesting. I say this right now as an IC/1099'er. Actually, my projected gross pay right now is almost what this guy makes...and I only work based on deadlines! lol Not looking to shaft, but if there's anything to glean as extra out of that and it's legit...heck, why not! :p

Video: Great Depression Tent Cities in the US

Good threshold is to donate 10% of what you make. 5% at minimum. Where it goes to is up to you. The kicker is that the majority of the population have always lived "paycheck to paycheck" over time, if even that. Play with the numbers all you want, they don't lie. 90+% are hanging on the...

Unemployment Edges Up to Great Depression Level

At the height of the GD, 24.9% of people were unemployed. 1 in 4. Equates to over 11 million people. Doesn't count the farmers who would be in today's terms "underemployed" or in the U6. "Real" unemployment today is at 9.8%. 15.1 million by "official counts." Take it as U6, and there's...

Another story on no legal basis for foreclosures

I'm reading the ruling right now as I live in this state. And it's making my head spin on how this stuff worked in this case (and I'm sure on god knows how many others). Either way, this has caused a complete and current mess. Inventory has dried up. P&S's have been canceled on people...
