    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

I commited this crime too, some time, but I rarely do it now. the root problem is: you try to hit right, or try hard to follow the market, but the market is too volatile (most time it is a no-where day, or consolidation day). when you see short, but the train reverses direction, you jumped in...

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

that is misleading. the truth is: the game is subjective:including using what signals to enter, when to enter, how to enter, when to close, how to end. all are in trader's own mind. the final results totally depend on traders'mind. so another truth is: you can not follow the market at any time...

    difficult to switch trading strategy

I was good at momentum play or breakout play, bascially a trend follower. I normally jump from one symbol to another one, it is pretty easy for me to catch those fast movements. but after i upgraded my account to future account and I just want to deal with one symbol, I found it is hard for me...

Trend is your friend, really ?

not every day the market trends. yesterday is a good trending day! so avoid those non-trending days in a particular trading vechicle. or you find different symbols everyday to maiximize trending days. if you trade index future, I bet most intra-day macro-trends are short lived, may in...

you are doing suicide trading! maybe becuase you are phasing out of trading, you want it end quickly. fading is a "good great " strategy, just like a sharp knife, you can use it to cut things easily, but also you can get hurt easily. every trade's winning odd is 33.33%!

my personal problems do did transfer to my trading activities. like today, I did plan the AIG trade. in the opening, I already put out my stop buy there. but around 10:00AM to 11:00Pm, someone would come to my house to replace a not working dish washer, I was anticiptating the wash disher...

    david's trading errors/mistakes journal

I was counting the days it is consolidating. last time 7days. I caught the 29.8 to 35 wave. but missed this wave. felt a shame. since this morning actually my stop buy order at 35.8 was there. I do not buy when it consolidates, that is my style. since I do not want to wait. AIG is in...

    david's trading errors/mistakes journal

gosh, I missed the AIG train, my stop buy was around 35.8, after I done with nymx, I should still keep the order. thouse guys seize the last half hour to breakup, gee. the inbalance of buyers and sellers is very severe, someone must desperately to cover! next time, never remove my planned trade!

    david's trading errors/mistakes journal

shorted NYMX at 6.87 with 1. 5kshare, then stop sell at 6.6 with another 1.5kshare. covered it at 5.6. the big mistake is my second round stop sell was token out becuase when it reverses IB does not have share for me to short. that is the problem with stock trading. done today.

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

since Es has too much noises (3 point /less movement) or confusion signals, a 3-point stop loss is not proper to catch major intra-day ES move like 10 or 20 points move, you must give the market time to filter out those noises.

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

or did you cut loss accordingly? in those cases, you did not. but do not push yourself too hard. markets most time are in no decision zone or too much noises there (or confusion signals), particularly day trading.

nodoji, if you really want to be agressive. just think like that: if the market shoots from 1000 to 1038, and if you did not do any thing, (suppose you have a short position just around 1000), you know how much you are in paper loss, or vice versa, es dropped from 1038 to 1000, and you did not...

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

I totally agree with you. whether stocks or futures are the same thing. I normally just trade those obvious ones or typical setups do not try to trade news. I done with trading pretty early around 10:00am,neted 2.0k+ from FNM, I sut down my computer around that time, "early bird eats earth...

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

well said. trading really is a job. as a retail trader, the disadvantage is: limited resources or scared money. as many know, learning trading needs learning fee, the fee is higher than most thought, particularly retail traders. I once felt very frustrated about my own progress, thought that...
