Thinking About Full Time - A Few Basic Questions

i think people are more amped about futures than options but i will give a few reasons why futures are awesome: volume is up huge year over year no up-tick rule for shorting, if you want to sell you can just sell (unlike stocks) less margin is required than for stocks (i believe) the...

Thinking About Full Time - A Few Basic Questions

yeah thats good logic samson. it pains me to hear such nonsense. trade 1 lots with real money and set daily loss limits and get a REAL education in the trading business, none of that paper trading crap. when people tell me how much money they are making paper trading i laugh.

Thinking About Full Time - A Few Basic Questions

yes, good trading is about successful habits if by habits you mean discipline, confidence, a positive attitude and hard work. none of these are demanded by paper trading. its a joke because who cares??? theres nothing at stake.

Thinking About Full Time - A Few Basic Questions

paper trading is worthless as it neglects perhaps the most important aspect of the market: emotion. i recommend trading 1 lots until you can be profitable consistantly, then trade 2 lots...

You daytrade, What is your days goal?

if you reach your daily goal early in the day you should keep on trading because you are either 1) trading really good or 2) the market is providing good opportunities. stopping once you reach your goal makes no sense to me whatsoever unless its late in the day and you are tired.

You daytrade, What is your days goal?

1pt as in 4 ticks in the ES? thats your goal? that doesnt make sense to me as a viable long term strategy to stay in the business. i think a trader needs to average a minimum of 10 ticks per day otherwise its not worth the risk...

join Group One / DRW Trading Group or Goldman as i-banking analyst?

geneva is solid, good training and good commission rates. altea has some good traders but their commish is through the roof and they dont pay you a salary when you start.

join Group One / DRW Trading Group or Goldman as i-banking analyst?

for options, i consider susquehanna far and away the best. i actually feel group one's training program is good, i just dont think overall their status is of the caliber of DRW. Wolverine is solid. i dont know enough about cutler to say decisively but i think they have a good one. Hull was...

join Group One / DRW Trading Group or Goldman as i-banking analyst?

to actually succeed at any trading company is very hard. how smart you are really doesnt matter though it probably helps. i've seen bonafide geniuses fail miserably and been amazed by complete idiots making bank. it seems to me that the most important characteristics of people who are...

join Group One / DRW Trading Group or Goldman as i-banking analyst?

the only options company i consider to be comparable to DRW in terms of size and quality of their traders is susquehanna. i would definitely take their offer. all others would have to be on a case by case basis. depends on their training program and then how much independence they give when...

join Group One / DRW Trading Group or Goldman as i-banking analyst?

i have no idea why you would lie. i dont know why people say half the things they do on this site. its hard to give good advice when you only divulge one of the choices. you might think this company is a real heavyweight but your equating of group one to DRW proves you dont really have a firm...

join Group One / DRW Trading Group or Goldman as i-banking analyst?

a "market-taking" firm? what is the name? there arent many firms comparable to the quality of DRW. group one is nothing special. i have suspicions about your honesty.
