What are the best technical indicators?

Just purchase Colby's book to get an understanding of his underlying approach and methodology.

What are the best technical indicators?

http://www.robertwcolby.com/RelativeAdvantage.html As you can see, it appears that the "simpler-the-better" rule applies here. Note the horrible performance of put-call ratios and public short ratios, and other "sophisticated" measurements and statistics.

Adobe Acrobat Professional File Reduction Problem

yes you can. Scan it but then OCR it so that text and images are SEPARATED. Once you do that, you'll probably have it in Word or HTML format. From Word or HTML, the PDF file will be quite small. If you purchase http://www.nuance.com/omnipage/ it will scan directly to a compact PDF file for you.

Adobe Acrobat Professional File Reduction Problem

I'm using Acrobat Pro 7.0 and have done this in the past with no problem. What happens in 7.0 is that it tells you the more you reduce, the lower the release of the Acrobat Reader is supported. I'm thinking your PDF file may have been created as an IMAGE, rather from HTML....and the two are...

    Multiple Strategy vs. Single Strat

Everyone is saying: one strategy = low diversification... unless I can apply it to: commodities Forex Interest Rates equities is that what you're doing ?

    Multiple Strategy vs. Single Strat

Amen Brother....and thanks for the post. The original "concept" was to create this "super composite indicator" ? But with "rules" that say 5% max in a position, ONE INDICATOR driving ONE SYSTEM in ONE MARKET says that 95% of our client's money will be in CASH. This is not good.

    Multiple Strategy vs. Single Strat

Wow, guys....thanks...and that was FAST ! The best that can be done is to attempt to detect market conditions as witnessed by the performance of one of the systems, and then to adjust capital committment to that system ASSUMING the market will remain in the new condition. I had intended for...

    Multiple Strategy vs. Single Strat

I have a trading friend who wishes to eventually become a hedge fund manager using systematic trading...mostly with either index futures or equity index options. He has this idea of using a blend of statistical indicators (TRIN, A/D, % of 52 week highs, put/call ratio, etc.) to develop one...

    Daytrading with 10K (How)?

EXACTLY: With VIX near record lows and NDX and COMPX with daily ranges of 10-15 points, index futures trading looks DISMAL. Couple that with a USA economy that appears to be going NOWHERE for the foreseeable future.....forget the indices.

There is absolutely ZERO leverage for higher wages for white collar, non-union, non-govt workers...

    Divergence in housing?

saw several properties in Western PA approx. 6-8 weeks ago... and now, today, all are still on the market. Bottomline: we're turning into a BUYER'S market. Peak was June 2005...(similar to Jan 2000 for stocks).

    TS2000i vs TS8

EXACTLY. TS2000i is RIFE with bugs, especially if you "Push the envelope" and try to use Tick charts realtime or DLL's in realtime. Many "Protection Exception Errors" under Win2K and win/xp. It took them 5 releases to get it semi-stable, but the owner (Bill Cruz) would not spend the estimated...

VISG - another OSTK deal ?

I don't know...the whole thing seems similar to Mel Karmazon's hyping of his beloved SIRI stock. In the end, even smart guys can't move the market or economy. Ed Zander was a really smart guy at SUNW (see 5 year stock chart).....did he get smarter or lucky when he went to Motorola ...
