    I am developing an intraday (20m) system for YM. I don't know much about the practicalities of trading a system, just a programmer. Targets are $1100 Stops are $600 Avg win is $125 All stats per contract. I think I would need about 10K per contract. I don't think I would trade it though...

    Silly question: if 90% of daytraders fail, how is it that chart patterns are so consistent. Are the pros just trading more size. Shouldn't the "bad" trades played by all the newbies throw the market around into chaos? Kind of existential.

    NYMEX on IB

    Totally unrelated question. If I use 'Day' limit order, sometimes IB complains that it will be executed the next day. I can use "GTC", why not use this flag all the time?

    Uncloseable forex positions in TWS

    Took me a while to track this down. But, if you open the account window (make sure you have the 'Show FX positions in portfolio' checked in settings). Right-click on the position, and say 'Change postion size'. Set it to 0. Now it is no longer considered a position but a conversion.
