It's just as easy for a human to fat finger a stock... LoL... Computers are prone to computer errors just as humans are prone to human errors.

    What is TA?

If you look into chaos theory and the theories that will be developed in the future to deal with turbulence and other "chaotic" things it's obvious there is actually no such thing as random in any system. It is likely that there are trends on a roulette table but humans are not smart and...

CNBC has timed the market perfectly lately!

Was listening to a guy a week and a half ago and he called new highs and for the market to pull back and backfill to around 1390 before moving higher. CNBC is the holy grail! :D

Using Lunar Cycles to create a Swing Trading Edge

I just realized something... Good thing there are not more female traders or we would really see a HUGE moon cycle correlation... Rotflmao... I love entertaining myself on the weekends by screwing with the little dipshits on ET. :D

Using the Weather to create a swing trading edge.

This is actually a more well known correlation than the Lunar Cycles. However... It's not a very predictable one. researchnews.osu.edu/archive/sunstock.htm Hilarious... Even my old college put out a paper on it! If you look at the data it's not a big enough correlation to bother with...

Using Lunar Cycles to create a Swing Trading Edge

From my private blog: "August 17, 2012 Looking like 2007 over again. The market behavior has been quite good lately and we have a strong daily uptrend. Not too worried about the market until September/October. Things are going to get a little rough as the market pushes toward new bull...

Using Lunar Cycles to create a Swing Trading Edge

LoL... It's a correlation dipsh*t. Don't you know what that is? It means that if the market is in an uptrend into a new moon/waxing the uptrend will be a certain percentage amount stronger. If the market is in an uptrend into a Full Moon/Waning it will be a certain percentage weaker. Go learn...

Using Lunar Cycles to create a Swing Trading Edge

Yea, this post is mostly entertainment. The moon cycles are a proven market correlation though. If the market is in a downtrend it will be strongest during the new moon into the waxing. And weakest from the full moon into the waning. Do realize though that over a very long period of time the...

Using Lunar Cycles to create a Swing Trading Edge

You can definitely see the heightened optimism that puts in the market highs from the new moon into the waxing moon as investors are getting laid the most during these periods and feeling good.

Using Lunar Cycles to create a Swing Trading Edge

The number of traders using lunar cycles bugged me recently so I decided to look into it and see if it was all Lunacy. http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2009/06/do-moon-cycles-affect-the-stock-market/19933/ http://www.bus.umich.edu/pdf/mitsui/workshopdocs/ZhengMoonstruck.pdf...

Math involved in calculating range to frequency ratio of trade ?

Math involved in calculating range to frequency ratio of trade ?

Like the climate is easy to predict... Market conditions are easy to predict. But, like the weather... It's hard to predict exactly whats going to happen. Here is how to understand the T/R Ratio... If a market moves 20 pips/points over 10 bars... And has a range of 20pips/points over those...

Math involved in calculating range to frequency ratio of trade ?

I use something different for a similar purpose... I monitor the trending/ranging behavior and use something I call the T/R Ratio. Trend/Range ratio. Market behavior tends to change steadily so as the T/R ratio changes I change my trading approach. If a market is maintaining a Trend/Range...

Math involved in calculating range to frequency ratio of trade ?

AAPL... Averages around 23 bars of 300 tick movement per day. Actually, that's just recently as everyone has gotten emotional about all time new highs. Normally it's a bit lower...

Math involved in calculating range to frequency ratio of trade ?

Well... Here is a stupidly simple way to get started in solving this... AAPL, H/L Bars, 100 Range in Ticks. 131 Bars Friday. So, there were 131 bars with $1.0 of movement. IMO this is all quite useless... I don't see how this is useful for trading except to tell you if a stock moves enough...

On Aug 31... Our heros will speak!!!

Doesn't matter if they ease or not... Don't trade before the news. Bernanke knows investors need reassurances and he will word his sentences just right not to create too much euphoria but to keep markets stable.
